In Firefox and Opera, a broken image link is shown as nothing on this board.

So, you're suggesting that to "fix" the problem, instead of simply ignoring the broken link, the board should instead display an ugly "broken link" image?

Personally, I think the current system is preferable.

In Firefox and Opera, a broken image link is shown as nothing on this board.thats how those browsers usually act (though depends on the server the website is run on). if there is alt text, then that will be displayed instead. upto the uploader of picture to (if possible) add such stuff, and no way the fault of the site or its server. (actually its how browsers should work, in an ideal world). nothing wrong here.

I'm using neither and it still doesn't show.

i think IE is the only browser that shows a broken image pic in place of a un-displayable image.

I use IE and it still shows that box with the red X.

Well, yeah. That's what they're saying. In Opera/Firefox however, you don't even see that.

Well, and.... what does it have to do with Offspring.com??
I mean, you see nothing on these browsers becuz it's the way they interpret such things. It has nothing to do with these pages, it's just the way these programs work

Normally, Firefox replaces the non-existant image with it's alternate text. If there isn't any alternate text, it doesn't display anything. Except maybe an empty area of it's width and height if it's set in html or css, but I'm don't think it does that.
