(This isn't a band, but since it's my personal project, i thought this would be the best place for my thread)

I go to Cal State Dominguez Hills, and the have an online radio station, kdhr.net .
I have been a DJ over there since 7/06, and it's really great because I can play whatever songs I want, talk about any topics, choose my own guests, and make my own promos/ sweepers.

My show is called "And Now We Dance", (after the Vandals' song), and centers mostly around punk, but i also sprinkle in some classic rock, some modern rock, ska, and whatever pops into my head at the time.
I am on Wednesdays @ 11:30am (pst) - 1pm (pst), and I invite you guys to listen, request, give me feedback, or whatever. just log on to KDHR.NET to listen.

here's my most recent playlist, and I plan to have another show tomorrow:

Not my type of music to a large extent but just had to say that wow, massively cool for you! I've always wanted to do this type of thing myself and felt jealousy towards the lucky peeps who've managed to do it online or at their colleges or whatever.

22. A Perfect Circle- Freedom of Choice (Devo cover)

I never knew such a thing existed. I want it!

it's on A Perfect Circle's "Emotive" album, that is made up of mostly covers.
It's pretty awesome, including Devo, they also tackle Elvis Costello, Black Flag, Marvin Gaye, John Lennon, and others. I recommend it.

oh and my show has a myspace (doesn't everybody?)
add it if you wish, and you can send me requests and shit there

I also have a "concert calendar" on there that has upcoming shows in the LA/Orange County area

wow. I find this incredibly cool. Really I would like to give this a listen sometime, the playlist is right up my alley. Nice work!

I mostly just find it funny because Josh Freese is in both APC and Devo, so it's odd that one of his bands would cover another of his band's songs.

i'm guessing that is how the cover ended up on the album... he most likely suggested it.:D

You need to embrace podcasting. I was actually interested enough to work out the time difference between Sydney and LA, which resulted in me realising I wouldn't be able to listen live as it'd go to air on 10:30am, during which time I'd be at school. I am atrocious at math however, so if someone wants to point out that I've horribly miscalculated Sydney being 18 hours ahead I'd appreciate it.

11-10-2007, 11:41 PM
i've actually been thinking about that a lot recently....

11-10-2007, 11:57 PM
Autonomist: You're 6 hours behind LA, not 18 hours ahead.

11-11-2007, 12:39 AM
Actually I'm 7 hours ahead. But thanks for making me rethink it.

Los Angeles Sun 12:38 AM
Sydney * Sun 7:38 PM

I had said 7 first, but decided that was wrong; I'm not in LA time, either.

I'm actually on air right now, playing a lot of band blocks to celebrate the 4 day weekend

any requests?

hahahaha, I thought you'd jump on that!
