Top 10 is a lot cause I mean, then you would have had to seen like 30 to even be able to make a list of the "best." And I got to a pretty good number of shows, and I probably haven't been to 30.

Good shows I've been to this year:
#1. The Weakerthans
#2. Social Distortion
#2. The Joel Plaskett Emergency
#3. Cuff the Duke
#3. The Sadies
#4. The Golden Dogs
#5. The New Pornographers/Immaculate Machine

Have seen:
Dandy Warhols, Spoon, Built to Spill, Tokyo Police Club/Meligrove Band, local bands, The Killers/Metric/Hot Hot Heat/AFI/I don't remember all the bands at this festival but didn't particularly love any of them.

And none of these make the cut. Hopefully I'm forgetting a few cause that's not a very good concert showing.

The only shows I remember going to are Mustard Plug, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, and Primus. All were good. I saw a bunch of local bands this year too, mainly because they have open mic nights every week at this cafe I hang out at.

Love em. They've got a great sense of humour. I've seen em live this year and about 2 years ago. Both were great liveshows.

I've already got 2008 cut out for me with Rage Against the Machine in January, The Offspring, Infectious Grooves, Kanye West and Pharoahe Monch in February and Queens of the Stone Age in March.

And I hate anyone who saw Social Distortion, who yet again canceled their upcoming Australian dates.

Infectious Grooves

They're still together? Robert Trujillo isn't still playing for them, is he?

12-24-2007, 03:10 PM
They've been working on a new album, and I think they're playing their first bunch of shows in a few years out here. I doubt Robert Trujillo will be with them though.

Seeing Electric Six is still on my "What to do before I die" list.

You need to. Seriously, they put on an amazing show. At the show I was at, they announced that they were finally given the word that they would be able to go to Switzerland, so they may be doing a whole European tour.

12-25-2007, 03:19 PM

Wow. You've actually seen them Mike? Awesome! I'm like, their #1 fan. I went to see them a few times near Toronto when they just released their first full album and played to a bar full of about 12 people.

They are such a fun band, and still they only made my #4. Actually, no, they should be tied for #3.

I saw them open for The Electric Six and was really impressed by them, so I bought Big Eye Little Eye. I haven't listened to it as much as I've wanted to, but a few days ago, I found out that I have over 7 full days of music I haven't listened to yet, so I've been trudging through that.
