On the other hand, even though it's antiquated and lame, teens (especially younger ones not equipped with all our internet experience) should learn to question these things at some point.
I mean come on, you're pledging allegiance to an inanimate object. What exactly does that mean? It's a silly ritual. (Although I suppose if you had to pledge allegiance to something it sort of makes sense, it would be hard to see them trying to convince people to pledge allegiance to any president.)
