so, San Francisco might get rid of the prison on Alcatraz and I'm really bummed out about it. I see it every day across the bay and I love it. for some reason I find it so beautiful. what's up with that? would anyone else be bummed out if it's destroyed? it's not a pleasant thing. you wouldn't think a prison on an island would be nice to look at. but it's fascinating. and why does everyone hope those guys who made dummies and escaped survived? I know I do.

what? I would have thought it was a national landmark.

It's an awesome part of history.

And The Rock was a great movie.

The way things are in California, they're probably tearing it down to build a new, bigger prison where it stood.

the rock ruled in a historically inaccurate but super entertaining kinda way.

the ultimate buzzkill about the whole situation is that a bunch of injins camped out on Alcatraz for like a year (they wanted to reclaim the land and make it a constant reminder of america's past and whatnot) and they were totally piledrived so it could be turned into a national park and now it might just sit there not being used for anything. except as the home of the crazy lady who lives there and the ghost of bird man.
