I plan on having two children. I will name the first born Micheal and the second born Micheal's-Sister, regardless of sex.

If my significant other doesn't go for that I will have three children. The first born will be Gengar, the second Haunter, and the third Gastly.

There's some good suggestions here already.
I can't think of any that stand-out in my mind really but I'd say try and stay away from common names or names I'd consider a bit boring or 'old', such as Linda, Sharon, Shirley, Diane, Dora, Dara, Virginia or Massachussetts.

I know double posts are lame to the max, but before I forget;

my dad encountered his collegue in the hallway of the hospital one day a while ago & the man was completely laughing his ass off. his collegue is a gynaecologist, so hey, it's a joyful job, but to be rofling through the hospital is kind of weird, so my dad got curious & asked what was up. the man tries to hold in his laughter to tell my dad what's going on without choking & then tells my father; "I just delivered twins today, two girls. I say to the mother; "congratulations, you've got two girls! what will you name them?" she then answers in all seriousness; "Stephány & Melány" (with the emphasis completely wrong, entirely on the -a-)

ah, you need to say it out loud. it's a good story.

benedict was an awesome name before the asshole pope came around. bummer.

i realized that if i ever have a son, i'm probably gonna do what's lame to the max and name him after his father, except with a "III" at the end (mens has a II at the end of his name, so...)
i'm such a tool.

anyways. my sister in law is expecting and her baby names were "caden james" and "kaylie grace". der der der. ;z

Does America not have any friggin' rules about naming your kid something totally retarded? In Finland you have to justify a peculiar or foreign name unless it's something obvious (like one of the parents is an immigrant). I mean, yeah, I think there's one person in Finland named "Frodo" or something, but I don't think a million spelling, or "Mo'Ron" or "Shithead" (pronounced like 'Sinead' - apparently the mother couldn't spell or something) would be allowed.

Charles III sounds nice. Needs a good middle name too for the more equisite sound.

However, may I suggest Vladimir as a name ? Good name, good history and you're sticking with your roots.

You're not serious, right?

My bestfriend named his daughter Arina. It's an old Russia name, it was the name of Pushkin's nanny. He's going to have a second kid now (a boy), so we'll see how that works out. I suggested Abraham!

And another guy I know named his son Daniel. Or "Danik" in Russian.

My dad had a strategy of suggesting the most horrible names to my mother, and then after being ridiculously stubborn for a long time he would suggest the name he really wanted which would seem much better in comparison.

He originally wanted me to be named Sebastian and my little brother Beauregard, .....BEAUREGARD?

(his logic with Beauregard was that since his name was Mogens they'd be Beau and Mo together.)

yeah, IV might be a little much. =p i think III is as far as i'd go.

i love the name "lola".

i dunno what i'd name a girl. i'd prolly like it to be a family name, because like.. yeah. my mom's name (or it's pronounceable version) is margaret. margot? margaux? frozen margarita? =/

My father did that. Though, we aren't entirely sure if he would have actually went through with the terrible names if given the chance =\

frozen margarita? =/

nothing wrong with a frozen margarita ;p if i used the common "family name" it'd be "Ann"....which is my middle name, my mom's middle name, my grandma's middle name...and so on. and yet, we all hate it. so i refuse to pass it on any longer.

Sam why don't you try Alex namename II jr.?

ohman, talk about confusion. =p i don't think he'd even go for naming the kid after him though. it's only caused problems for him to have the same name as his dad.

Sunny
03-24-2008, 02:20 PM
hmm i can imagine that sometimes having the same name as your father could be an issue. we've had a couple of credit mixups. ha.

however, having the same name as the main architect really helps when you're a punkass trying to sneak into a brand new guarded development to use their pool and hot tub. =p

Lola is short for Lolita, the latter widely known as a "child lover" character from a Vladimir Nabokov book. I think that's a pretty disturbing connotation for your girl's name, at least anywhere where this mass culture prevails.

Rag Doll
03-25-2008, 06:30 AM

I've considered that, for a second. then I went back to not caring, visualising the name in combination with that kick ass eight year old, & went back to thinking; "that's one hell of a name *thumb up*"

it's the same over here.

there's some nationally famous dude my parents know & he wanted to name his first son Rolls & his second Royce. when he got his first son, everyone was like, "whatever, the dude digs strange names", so he called him Rolls without further problems. then when the second one was born, they were like; "uhh, didn't you name your last one Rolls? uh uh, 4srs, no can do". so that one got stuck with the name Charles, which I imagine isn't as terrible as being stuck with Rolls, or Royce for that matter.

anyway, years later he dug up some younger woman with a stretched face & an unnatural haircolour, knocked her up in a different town & got to call his newborn Royce after all.

vladimir has a nice ring to it though =p

it does! I like that name, too bad over here (& over there) it isn't pronounced as sexy.

My cousin just had a girl. Her name is Brandon Olive Jane Harris...

What the fuck?

Yea, I also noticed more and more of these names recently...

What I could add to those kinda names is:
Verena Dakota Inken
and Réné-Hans-Kevin-Enrico (a german one :D)

and if you seriously look for a girls name, I would go with many common names that are easy to call and do NOT cause any psychical harm to the child. (for example Anne, Sarah, Hanna or whatever)

Edit: I would suggest 2 names as maximum, people will just call their first 1-2 names, no matter how many they have anyway...
