Hi there,
Just a quick question really. Bought an LP from a car boot the other day and was wondering if anyone could help out. It is an offspring lp with only two songs, doctors & nurses, and get it right.
But on the label cottage records???
Anyone know of this pressing or .... I have no idea what it is or where it came from.
Any help greatly appreciated!!
Cheers
Dave

play it and see :D

i think its a huge coincidence though. theres one on ebay. says its from 1983. the offspring would have been going by... 'manic subsidal' then, if anything at all.

ps.i hope its real though. a new old song.top notch.

Well we shall expect some cottage punk :D
Anyway, if there wasnt for Get It Right, I would doubt it was real. But now... who knows?

Get it Right is well-known song, so maybe that's the reason its title is there. It even might not be the song itself, just a title.

Part of the history:
"1984: Orange County high school classmates Dexter Holland and Greg Kriesel are inspired to form a band after an Irvine concert by local punk-rock heroes Social Distortion. With Holland the vocalist, Kriesel takes to the bass."

So why they should record a lp and decide to start a band AFTER recording it? And we all know that Offspring started as "Manic Subsidal". Is the record "true", it means Offspring -> Manic Subsidal -> Offspring.
I don't think so. I believe that "offspring on cottage record" is a fishy band from the UK.

Cottage Record exists. Meybe that claim something untrue just to get their name out.

it cant be FAKE if it was made before the offspring even existed.

im sure there have been lots of musical acts that have used the name offspring.

this just isnt the offspring we know, love, and get funny tingles from.

the fact they have a song called 'get it right' is a huge coincidence.:)

EDIT: Someone posted on ebay already that it is from a Welsh band of the same name :)

"Doctors & Nurses," huh? Doesn't ring a bell. Maybe "Get it Right" is a cover of the Orange County Offspring.

The sample is actually quite punk. What kinda world is this, having two punk bands named Offspring? :D
And Get It Right could not be a cover, since in 1983(when it was released), the song probably never existed, neither did The Offspring(or shall I say Manic Subsidal).

That's right. I forgot it was from 1983. I'd say then that our Offspring covered the other Offspring, then, but then we'd know. Hmm. This is actually kinda spooky if you think about it.

Imo the bands knew nothing about each other. Who knows, perhaps in this world there is also a second Cock Joke :p

Yeeeah, you must be right. All these years, I thought it was just a miscrediting(?) of the Offspring, but I never thought of this possibility.
