Ok, I'm having an extremely hard time trying to find ringtones for The Offspring. I am from Canada (Ontario) and for some reason when I try to search, I have only came up with maybe 15 songs that are available. I can't seem to find YGGFK or KHWHD (my 2 favourite songs) anywhere. I know you can get them from the states, but I can't seem to find those 2 particular songs anywhere online in Canada. Any ideas? Or even a site where I can get any of their songs. Thanks a bunch.

I purchased a program from xingtone (www.xingtone.com, i believe). you upload your own song and cut the song to make the ringtone you want. i'm not sure if it works in canada though.

also, i don't recall ever seeing a KHWHD ringtone. interesting.

I don't think it's going to work because they're asking me for state and zip. Thanks anyway though. :)

Unless you have a really old cellphone just plug it into your computer and transfer some mp3s.

Hmm... I know I can do that with pics. and stuff. My phone is a year old... so probably outdated now... lol. No hurt in trying that I guess. Thanks.

Nope, that won't work either. It says that I don't have enough free space on my phone for that. And I'm not sure how to crop the songs to be just the verse where they're about 112kb. That's what each of the tones hold on my phone and it's generally the verse.

I use this company for audio stuff. Just download one of the demos, and keep the setup file, because when it expires (after either 15 or 30 days), you just go to the folder in program files, click uninstall, and then reinstall it. if you dont uninstall it first though, it will still say that it's expired.

to use it, open wavepad, then go to file and click open song, and browse till you find the song. open it, and play the song until you get to the part you want. find it on the wave part (there will be a line going across as it plays), and click the mouse and drag across to select the part you want (the verse, chorus etc.). then right click and select "cut". close the current project (do not save changes or it will actually cut that section out of your copy of the song), then click File->new project. paste the segment in and save it as what ever you want.

EDIT: also, read the stuff on the download page. and look at some of the screenshots if you're unsure

It depends on what you mean. I saw that youre mobilphone is one year old? If so, your phone is probably able to play MP3 songs. Then it's just to find the song you want (as an MP3 file) and get it on the phone (via USB or bluetooth) (If you want to cut it, Ryder's option is probably good). But you also did that, but didn't have enough memory on the phone? Maybe you can delete a few pictures or something, and that could be enough. Try to find out how much memory your phone has.

If your phone isn't able to play MP3, you must get MIDI-ringtones (like bip bip bip bip).

Yeah, but whenever I'd try to paste it, it isn't highlighted to paste it for some reason. :(

actually, looking at the screenshot, there should be a toolbar under the "File, Edit..." part. there will be one that says "new file". thats the button you want.

Ryder1234
07-22-2008, 06:58 PM
So basically, just select the part you want, right click and "Cut" it, then click new file, and paste that section in.
DO NOT SAVE CHANGES WHEN YOU CLOSE THE FULL SONG
But do save the ringtone.

EDIT: http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/screenshots.html
check the first one. Highlight it like that, cut, click new file, and paste.

When I click on new file, I get this coming up.

So no where to paste anything is what I'm saying.

Ok, I must be really stupid. Cause when I re-opened wavepad, clicked on file, then new file, then ok. Where am I pasting cause when I right click to paste, it's not highlighted. Check your PM's.

Ok, maybe it didn't... lol. For some reason it won't let me use it as a tone. Just as a music file. I give up. :(

Ok, so if anyone can figure out how to put KHWHD and/or YGGFK into ring tones (112kb) or can send them to me, please do. I have looked EVERYWHERE online for both of these songs with NO luck here in Canada. It would be great if I was American or had an American number, but I don't. Thanks.

later, I'll cut the songs in that program. you just have to figure out how to make them a ringtone when theyre on the phone :)

Why exactly 112kb? I don't know, but that would be like 5 seconds of a MP3 song, if I'm right? I don't know if you saw my post, but I can post one of the questions again: MP3 or MIDI? Do your phone play MP3's, or must you have bipbip-tones?

I had alot of polyphonic ringtones for my Nokia 3310. I still have it at home with Dirty Magic as a ringtone. I had Vultures, Why Don't You Get a Job? and Genocide what I remember, but I know I had more. But I could only have one ringtone that I made, and one that was downloaded and the rest were pre-installed.

That one would be much greater if it could vibrate, which you could buy for it. The menues in that one is much, much faster than the one in my cellphone today, and even faster than some newer phones I've tried. The software is too slow nowadays. And the sound on my old mobile phone was too low.

"Music player supporting MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA formats"
So, you'r phone is abløe to play MP3 songs (real music).

"Up to 4 MB free internal user memory
MicroSD memory card reader"
Okey...eh. 4 MB internal memory wasn't much. A standard mp3 song is about 3 MB +-.

I still can't figure out an easy way to just take out the chorus/verse and put it into an MP3.

I found another site for making your own ring tones. I made one - well actually about 10 (for now.) Hehehe.. so damn proud of myself because I've been looking for nearly a month for this ring tone here in Canada. Sorry about the "vibrating" I didn't shut it off. Seems like I could of probably put the entire song on there. :p :D
