Full Metal Jacket: The part during R L Emery's first scene where Joker interupts him with "Is that you John Wayne?" always makes me laugh. Always.

Make a list of them, on this pattern:

- Ben-Hur: the chariot race

- Terminator 2: Schwarzy being terminated, with the final thumbs-up

The chariot scene was great.

However that scene was one of the few negative points of T2. The transformation of this ice cold killer robot into a wanna-cry pussy machine was saddening. Luckily it was only in the last few minutes of the movie so I can ignore that.

(Besides Star Trek had been turning non-humans into humans for years, making it kinda clicheed by the time T2 had come out.)

My first three are from Braveheart (Best movie of all Time ever)
-Taking revenge (http://youtube.com/watch?v=H0QOLycRhXA) for executing his wife
-All the scenes with the Irishman, (http://youtube.com/watch?v=zs8QKXtCN9w) he was great.(Excuse the bad music)
-Unfortunately I couldn't find the scene where they entered the castle wearing british uniforms, and when the head of the castle said "you made a grave mistake, I have a garrison coming back right this instant" Wallace replies with " Were they wearing uniforms like these?"

The final Scene of V for Vendetta (http://youtube.com/watch?v=-A7FG_QKUfU). Well one of the final scenes at least.

Steven Seagal makes sure that everybody knows they aren't Above the Law. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=-A7FG_QKUfU)

Those are the ones that are sticking out most clearly in my head.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - the parade scene
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - the beach scene where Jack is screaming, "but why is the rum gone?!"
The Dark Knight - the Joker in the hospital scene.
Mean Girls - "Four for you Glenn Coco, you go Glenn Coco"
The Bourne Supremacy - the end with Bourne on the phone with whatshername blonde chick, when he says she looks tired

Blanking a bit.

If we are talking favorite movie scenes then I actually have to say
the first Mission: Impossible movie had a few that I enjoyed

- the whole breaking into the vault thing was good.

Empire Strikes Back
- First scene introducing Yoda, hilarious

Braveheart (yeah Wheelchairman already mentioned a few good ones)
- The obvious cliched Freedom scene during his execution - powerful every time

In all honesty I have too many - so I'll just leave it at this for now...

Initial stand-outs are:

The end scene of Seven, where his wifes headd is delivered in the box.

The scene where they storm the rebel camp in the first Predator movie.

The car/motorbike chase in The Matrix.

The opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

The scene where Mr.Brooks dreams his daughter stabs him in the neck with scissors. Obviously from Mr.Brooks.

'Needle in Hay' is the shaving scene song right?

Yeah, that entire scene was pretty amazing.

Also, based on endymion's addition to this thread I downloaded and watched the Proposition, it was great.

The "bite the curb" part of American History X. And the rest of that movie. That's all I can think of for now.

The ending scene of Zodiac. Hurdy Grudy Man is a very well chosen song for the film and it makes me shiver every time I watch it.

The scene from Secretary where James Spader masturbated on Maggie Gylwhatever. Yes. I love it.

The scene where the guy slits his own throat in a very unexpected way in Caché. It lasts only a couple seconds but it's definitely much more violent than all of those Hostel/Saw bullshit.

And the scene from Die Hard where McClane and Hans Gruber talks. I2m sure you all know what I'm talking about.

Into the Wild - The opening scenes. <3
Dark Knight - The scenes where the Joker was imprisoned.
V for Vendetta - The scene where the Big Ben blows up.
American History X - The final scene.
Nosferatu - The whole "Nosferatu outside the window" scene. That shit was fucking scary.
Shawshank Redemption - The scene where Red was explaining how Andy escaped and whatnot.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - The scene where McMurphy plays out the baseball game, all from his imagination

I can't remember anymore at the moment ...

No, the fast majority of that film was a chick-drama that was so boring it was unbelievable.

The dancing scene at the end of Little Miss Sunshine (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jBD68zAROII). It always makes me happy.

End scene of There Will Be Blood (http://youtube.com/watch?v=UcAlN9hJLIM&feature=related). The whole 'THEN IT IS MY MILKSHAKE' and bowling pin thing.

The nightmare scene of Mulholland Dr (http://youtube.com/watch?v=7Pdd9VBSoag&feature=related). Terrified me.

I'll think of more later.

what's the most you ever lost on a coin toss? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0kVdEGklkc)

also, pilz, thank you for the mulholland dr. clip. that is my favorite film of all time.

also, there will be blood is fantastic... it would have been the best film of 2007 if not for no country for old men. it's also paul thomas anderson's worst film to date, which just goes to show how great all his previous films are. it's also the only film of his without philip seymour hoffman... hmm...

To Green Terror and autonomist:

Esp the part when the cops come for Ed Norton, the way he puts his hands behind and his head and his mimics...

You guys have named so many good scenes (very good taste btw), there is one that sticks out, from what I think is the most underrated movie of all time:

Men Of Honor

The end scene in the courtroom:
"Hell I don't know why anyone wanna become a navy diver".. that's crier if you ever did see one!

The Coin Toss scene is indeed excellent.

I thought There Will Be Blood was a little... drawn out? But there were some fantastic scenes.

I watched the Proposition and it just wasn't for me. However, my guy friends who watched it with me enjoyed it quite a bit, so in that sense it was a successful viewing and a successful movie choice on my part.

Hmmm... just whatever comes to mind:

The whole coke scene in Pulp Fiction.

The Bob scene in Office Space. Pretty much the whole movie is amazing though... possibly my favourite movie ever.

The Flesh Fair in A.I.

Henry Kane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inRGcLnFSl4) in Poltergeist II (can't find a decent clip... grrr...)

Big Trouble in Little China's climax (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mchAyUiAw5w)

And also:
-Most of the other scenes from Big Trouble
-Evil Dead III's alternative ending
-Crocodile II when the crocodile jumps around twenty vertical metres to bring down a helicopter vertically
-The last fight in Battle Royale
-Friday After Next's Bros' BBQ scene (note that it is the only good scene in the film)
-Final Destination III's weight training death (also the only good scene)
-When the black man from Die Hard brings himself to kill the terrorist. Die Hard has a few brilliant scenes.
-The “I don’t know karate, but I know Caraazay” scene in Are We Done Yet
-The warehouse gunfight in Hard Boiled
-Get Carter’s boat fight scene
-Lock Up’s ending
-The opening of Citizen Kane
-Rocky I’s fight/training
-Rocky II's Training
-Rocky III’s Hulk Hulgon fight
-Rocky IV’s training
-Rocky V’s fight
-Rocky Balboa’s fight/training
-The last scene in Mortal Kombat
