I knew someone will start a thread like this. The one in GC is better.

Difference: The face is a little bit fatter.

The first one has got some weird white space surrounding it.

P.S.: I got the second one, maybe the first is the US version and the second is European?

And by the way, it's not fun to have Nothingtown or Rock Bottom as a location anymore. Almost all of you (I mean newbies) use it.

But he has got Rock Bottom, dude!

EDIT: Oh I am blind. Sorry. This post has no meaning.

^^ Doubtful. The first one is pretty new to me. I always see the second one in stores.

No, there's no American or European release. They are the same.

The "Americana" font is different. Pretty fucking obvious.

And so is that tail :p

well.. difference one:
The tentacle on the top picture is green whereas it is purple with yellow bits on the bottom one.
Difference two:
Americana on the top one is the american flag and it is just a basic font on the bottom one.
Difference three:
the bottom "offspring" logo has a black background, whereas it is all red on the top one.

You cant seriously tell me none of you except the two people who posted before me noticed these things?

Lots of differences:

1. The top kid is 'fatter', or atleast the picture is stretched out.
2. 'The Offspring' and it's box and border colors are different.
3. 'Americana' is totally different.
4. The tail colors, shape and position is different.
5. The background-circles are in different positions (look at his right sock).

But I guess your real question is: what's the difference between the two releases? I think the top image isn't a CD-release but was used for promotional art, like for posters or shirts or something.

1: That's just because it's streched, so I didn't count that one.
2. Said that one.
3. Said that one.
4. Said that one.
5: THAT one I didn't say. Clever. ^^

The first one was a promo pic of the "future cover art" before the album was released...

That changed for the album, the second one is the real release.

I had Americana like 2 months before its release, I burned a copy and I had that top cover for it printed in color....

THat's what I remember

also, i believe the top one was the version of the cover found on the americana cassettes... unfortunately my americana cassette case met a bad end so i cannot confirm that.
