I have recorded the main guitar track.I will record the second guitar another time.
Also i recorded some vocals.I havend made pitch correction and backup vocals but i can do them if you help with the other instuments.

Check my recordings HERE (http://offspringbootlegs.info/downloads/index.php?dir=audio/Music%20Factory%20Project/Demo%20Songs/YGGFK/)

2)Bass

And guitars or vocals if you can do better than mine

Can you guys help me out? If you like the idea of making covers and collaborate with other people by internet go to our forum (http://offspringbootlegs.info/forums/index.php).and check the "Make music project"

I can play the bass track if you're still interested in doing this. I just need to figure out a way to record it with some decent quality.

Use a good microphone.Or just plug the bass into your PC.After that you can send me the bass channel so i can pass effects on it.

I'd play drums for you, only problem is that I won't have an electronic kit for another couple of months, and I don't have the gear to make a decent recording with my acoustic kit. Keep me in mind if you don't have a drummer in a few months :p

Aw man, I would totally contribute but I have no way to get anything into my laptop. I only have USB and FireWire inputs. Anyone know any way I could do this?

Erm, call me an ignoramus for not knowing, but what would you want to contribute? What do you play? Or is it vocals?

I play bass. I sing too but I had sinus surgery last month and I'm not quite back up to where I want to be singing.

If I know the bpm I could always do some synthy stuff, but it doesn't really seem important for Offspring songs.

Hmm, if you have a mic socket then I guess you could just plug the bass straight into your laptop. I use a really crappy program called Audacity for recording stuff. It's free, and like other well known recording software *cough* it does have effects that you can apply, and they're actually not bad. It's the most basic of programs but it does the job I guess. If you don't have a mic socket then I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever seen anything along the lines of a jack to USB type adapter, and other than that you'd need some kind of mixer with a preamp or whatever. Anyway, I'm sure you're aware of these options and stuff, so I'll shut up now.

Both programs are made by Toontrack. Both of them can be used with MIDI drums, keyboards or even as a VST instument and play your favorite MIDI files. You have complete control over Everything.I have used those programs and they are the best. You can listen MP3 demos on their official sites.

Bass:
1) Record by cable => line-in jack => PC
2) Record by USB interface => PC
3) Record by Real Bass Amp => Mic => PC

After recording the bass you will need to pass some effects and filters.

Multitrack/Recording Software:
Reaper [site (http://www.cockos.com/reaper/)] [screenshots (http://www.cockos.com/reaper/feat-ss.php)] [youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUFMLdJnAy0)] Price: Free*
Adobe Audition 3.0 [site (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/?promoid=DJDVV)] [youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgcdGohbJQA)] Price: 349$

*Reaper its almost free.Everytime when the program loads it asks for serial number. After 6 seconds you can click continue and you can use the program with all of its features. Its like a trial version which never ends.

Anyone who is interested can send me a demo recording by PM and i can pass filters and stuff...

That's really weird. Laptops usually have at least one audio (earphone) output and one microphone input. Unless you're using a MacBook or some other Apple stuff, then I don't know much about it.

I discovered this thing at my school bookstore. Its a microphone for ipods. Its so amazingly cool! I got it to record my lectures, but I'm sure I'll find other uses for a good quality microphone with a self powered hard drive.

*wink wink* * nudge nudge*

I can do vocals

Everyone (except me, of course) should try to do vocals. Then we can pick the best ones.
