View Full Version : Album of the 00s

Keep 'em Seperated

Just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to see what everyones opinion of the ultimate Offspring album of the 2000s would be. We hear lots about the great 90s albums but there's some awesome tracks in the 00s ones too. You can choose any song from any album in the 00s (apart from GH, though Next To You and Can't Repeat are allowed). Also the stand alone single Defy You is allowed. The album can be of any length, though try to keep it within reason :p. Tracks can be in any order, also, you can name up to six singles you would release from that album.

I'll start the thread off in a constructive and helpful way by saying I have no clue what I'd have. :p

Rofl! You guys do know you're playing this game completely wrong, right? I think you're supposed to make an album out of the best songs since 2000.

Err, I'll post mine some time later.

Oh, it makes total sense.

Like we have the christian-catholic calendary, we are ruled by the year of birth of Christ, which is YEAR ONE, and you will note that the year zero- 0, none- don't exist, so logically:

1-11: First decade since the birth of Christ

1-1001- First millenium since the birth of Christ

1001-2001- Second millenium since the birth of Christ

2001-? Third millenium... Sorry if I sound like an snob bastard, but that's what the calendary we use is, so the year 2000 party was bullshit

Why not for the sake of this thread, just pretend that CO1 is in the 2000s.

Anyways, here is my contribution, although it still doesn't seem right. This would make a decent setlist, but not a great album, all of the songs just seem to belong on their original albums. Still, i tried to give more of a forceful ending to the album. Thus leaving the listener almost wanting more.

1) Neocon
2) Come Out Swinging
3) You’re Gonna Go Far Kid
4) Million Miles Away
5) The Noose
6) Hammerhead
7) Nothingtown
8) Damnit I changed Again
9) Spare Me The Details
10) Half Truism
11) One Fine Day
12) Trust In You
13) Lighting Rod

MMM... because its not...

Then you'd only have two albums to choose from. Plus most people would still consider it to be part of the 2000s. As well, to suggest otherwise makes things needlessly complicated.

Yes, we can change the chronology and the FACTS of time to make it adjust to our demands....

No, dude, sorry but with splinter and half-truism you can have a nice 14 tracks album

I see what you mean, with the 21st Century (that's even debatable), but I still say it's the 2000s because you even say "two thousand" when you say it! Heh, but whatever...

Why... why Oh great Bimbo Bear, you put me these tasks! There's no year zero... the millenium and decade starts with year --- one!
