In Flames (The Jester Race and Subterranean)
Soilwork (Steel Bath Suicide)
Dark Tranquility (The Gallery)
At The Gates (Every album released)
Dismember (Every Album Released)

With the exception of At The Gates (cause they broke up in '95) and some of Dark Tranquility, Soilwork and In Flames have lost touch in their GOOD melodic death metal. And notice how all these bands are from Sweden =D. Thank God for Sweden. Holy shit.

Have to agree there with InFlames. The "gothenburg sound" has influenced so many other awesome bands.

Watain - Sworn To The Dark

I don't know why I like this so much, but apparently Swedish Black Metal totally does it for me.

Add At the Gates to that list of the influential Gothenburg Sounds. Both of them have done a lot for modern day music than people know.
