Hey guys!

I have a question about the cover of the latest offspring album.

Does anybody now the meaning of the cover? Because I think it looks pretty strange, and if there is something the band want to express, it would be cool if you could tell me.

Dexter is a member of the Church of Scientology, and he believes the world will end in 2010 - and the cover symbolizes the Apocalypse! The death of all!

Hey, this is interesting question for me. I've never been wondering if covers have meanings. How about you? I know how to read the symbol, but how is connected to the album? what do you think?

There was an interview where Dexter or Noodles said few words explaining that. An angel symbolizes everything good about you, trying to rise, move forward, but she can't because chains (all the possible difficulties and obstacles you meet in life) hold her.

I found an interesting biography about the offspring. What do you think about this:

"Holland credits Seattle-based grunge band Nirvana for creating the environment which allowed The Offspring to succeed."

I'd never read this anywhere before, but I think it's pretty evident that Nirvana was a big influence on Offspring.

That interview was a little strange. It ended very abruptly. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that Party Animal compilation wasn't released in 1984.

Yeah, that is so funny!
The Maya calendar stops 21 december 2012 and therefore many people thought that this is the end of the world, but really the Maya Indians lived so long ago and to figure their own calendar they had to count day by day, adn they just stopped randomly at 21st december because it was so far ahead in the future. They didn't think they needed to figure out the years that would come for many centuries!

The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by José Argüelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about December 21, 2012, a forecast that mainstream Mayanist scholars consider a misinterpretation, yet is commonly referenced in pop-culture media as the 2012 problem

I bought my copy yesterday.

I have a question.
Why the fuck wasn't the cd released in a regular cd case?
It sucks, 'cause a card case has no resistance...

Was it released in a card case everywhere?

It's called a digipak. It's supposed to be good for the enviroment because it's recycleable. Linkin Park and Rise Against released their latest cd using the samething (Rise against, however, released it in regular jewel cases as well, but the plastic was made from recycled goods.)

Yeah, totally agree. A lot of bands were able to succeed because of Nirvana. Green Day, The Offspring, STP, and other great ninties alternative bands owe a lot to them.

Was it released in a card case everywhere?Pretty much everywhere yeah. The Japanese version has a plastic case, but it's thicker than a normal jewel case. It also includes a bonus song and a DVD.

No. RAFRAG has nothing to do with Che Guevara. It's not like "rise and fall" line haven't been used anywhere before The Offspring.
The funny thing is about Half-Truism song meaning. When we discussed that, iGustavo and few other (if I'm not wrong) bbs members said that they see the song's meaning about revolution. iGustavo even mentioned Che Guevara back then. I'm not one of them though, if you're interested, ask Gustavo.

EDIT:
