What happend at this moment?
On the front page of the BBS it says: "Most users ever online was 1,250, 07-17-2007 at 12:47 AM."

Was something special happening that day? Can't remember myself :p

Most likely it was just a ton of search engine spiders. That's why we always have so many guests reading the forums all day and all night.

What are search engine spiders? Is it those like "fake" accounts that post this huge list of cell phones you can buy by calling a 1-800 number?

Search spiders or bots are used by websites like Google. They look what's on the forums and makes it able for other internet users to find it.

Why are those search engine spiders/bots bad? Or are they?

Spiders constantly update search engines' databases for later processing so that the data they store can be easily accessed anytime, they create copies of all the pages they visit and sometimes even if the content of a particular webpage or the webpage itself is removed, it can still appear in a search engine. So for example when you google something, basically it's not the web that you search through, it's Google's database.

They are bad because they bring goose stepping morons and Turks to the board.

It's also weird how the majority of the search engine spiders are viewing the "man gets fucked to death by a horse" thread. Seriously, Google?

This.

I will say though, the nationalistic turks are always good for a laugh.

I really, really wish those were spiders. Those are humans.

So what do you expect would be the highest number of users ever online actually is? Maybe around 300 when the forum was booming?

I think I can actually remember that day. There wasn't anything momentus, though. Otherwise it might have been due to the Summersonic Festival.

Anticipation of the Summersonic Festival, maybe? The actual thing was in August of that year.

Wow, thanks. I learned something today, and it's been just one hour since I woke up!

Err, never mind. But he's wondering how many actual humans have been on at the same time, not including bots and spiders.

Oh, I see. He said just "users" and it said "Most users ever online was 1,250, 07-17-2007 at 12:47 AM."
But I understand now :)
