But yeah, lawl would be the best way to describe the situation...

That really was a weird and stupid bridge(or what ever it's called...change, move) to the argument between the two bands from the original conversation.

I hope I made even some sence?

Man I´ve always been in hate with those Gilmore´s bitches!!! Cause I don´t like the show n my mom, sis, friends etc. watched that damn show. It was like man I wanna go do something and they went like hey it´s Gilmore´s time. So we went out after the show. Yo know what I mean. :D But now that damn bitch crossed everything!!! Tellin´ to the guy that his fav band = Offy´s just suck?! What the hell that fuckin´ slut thinks she´s doin´? Huh. I´m gonna rip that bitche´s fuckin´mouth out n give it to Metallica, so they can hear all the time about how great they are. :D

*Inserts tongue into cheek*

In the Offspring's defense, they only use the same chord progression in the singles for Self-Esteem and YGGFK.

Have You Ever, Dammit I Changed Again, All I Want, Half-Truism, Smash, and Trust In You on the other hand....

If it is the same progression I'm thinking of, it's not included on Smash, but we can find it in the choruses of Kick Him When He's Down, Gotta Get Away and Race Against Myself, to say other examples.

I take back Smash, that's my mistake. I was just confused by Trust In YOUUUUUUUU!

To be fair, they also mentioned Dexter in a positive light, when naming off a bunch of "well educated punks", ie him and Greg Graffin, ect.

I also, love that show. It's a big pop-culture circle jerk.

The writers must be something of fans then, if they're aware of such things and feel somewhat compelled to slip them into episodes.

Well... Metallica didn't make a GOOD album in what... 20 years?

I'll admit, that made me laugh my ass off!!! I was a little hurt, as an Offspring fan, but FUUUUUUCK that was funny! :D

haha i cant believe they actually talked about offspring. but hey if you can take the same riff and use it over and over and make it sound good than thats talent right there.

Yup. That's why the conversations are, as someone put it, "bridged" that way between one thing to the next one. It's your typical soap opera, but I love the references and dialogue, even if the dialogue was weaker in the later seasons.

Though, I think I'd take the Offspring over Metallica...

Heh, I haven't watched this just now, but I know exactly what this is. I saw it about four years ago when I was first getting into the Offspring and trying to get into Gilmore Girls, because I thought Lauren Graham was hot. I was all like "Yay! They mentioned the Offspring!...*le gasp* HOW DARE YOU?!!" Incidentally, that was the last time I ever watched that show.

Heh, I was always trying to remember what the other band was they talked about. Had no idea it was Metallica.

P.S. At first, I thought this was that Celebrity Deathmatch thread.

It's a paradox to be a fan of both Metallica and The Offspring.

Lol, yeah, liking both is a bit of a paradox. One of my best friends loves Metallica and I listen to the Offspring every day. Irritates him more than me.

I personally think they've done an amazing job writing so many simpler punk songs that are different enough to make each one unique, while still maintaining their "offspring style"(<imo) in just about every one. I always like appreciating every offspring song's special nuances, and I do a lot of that, cause I know 40-50 of their songs on guitar. (It's a lot of fun playing along to the tracks)

For me it's all about the energy, the fun, the overdrive, and Dexter's one-of-a-kind singing. :D

The Offspring are punk itself.

i was thinking about that the other day,

pretty fun segment though.

but as far as chord progression....id rather not comment,

but its good they change the key of the song every once in a while.

Hahaha, yeah. She's right about that, but it doesn't really happen on the singles.

I Like Metallica and The Offspring, but these days i can only
find myself to listen to there first 2 albums, and sometimes
Ixnay and americana, but the offspring are just to simple nowadays,
I love there first 2 albums and ixnay (and americana) but
there first album is just classic, it has awesome songs
great solos, and some great riffs, RAFRAG is great but
I guess im just a more of a guitar fan.

Yeah, but Metallica is a -BAD- thrash -well... not- metal -eh... not- band.

I like both bands, but Metallica's older stuff is best. I didn't like any of their 90's stuff, aside from the black album. Death Magnetic, from what I heard, was pretty good.

And Gilmore Girls sucks and that comparison is irreleivent to whatever the hell they were talking about.
