A second volume of the (in)famous punk cover compilation "Punk Goes Pop" will be released on March 10, 2009, and you can preview all the songs here:

I would like to know your opinions on this so called compilation, for me it is kind of a disappointment, only some of them I can call "good" or "well done" covers, mainly the one by Bayside striked me as really nice. But most of those songs, imho, can be classified as horrible. The classic punk rock covers from the 90s, by MFATGG and such, now that was something! And the last song, I Kissed A Girl, just does not deserve a comment. Same on the See You Again or something.

Your opinions? I would be pleased if people would not genre-argue that much.. ;)

This is rather pop goes pop. The Britney Spears cover was funny, though:D

Yeah, not trying to start a genre bitch fest, but there doesn't seem to be any "punk" on there, at all. I mean, not even in the slightest. Still, these types of novelty singles can be fun; not really something i'd listen to though.

That I Kissed a Girl one was just wrong

I'm not surprised A Day To Remember is on there.

Yeah, and that Silverstein cover actually sounds better then the original. Mind you, I don't like the original or Silverstein.

I'm glad you said this, so I don't have to. I agree.

I find this to be an overall disappointment, the biggest one being "What Comes Around..." I love the original, but the cover was just awful. I'm also disappointed in the "See You Again" cover. It's pretty good, but they missed the opportunity to do something different with it. My version is much better. ;)

However, "Ice Box" makes it all worth it. "Over My Head," "Beautiful," and "Smooth" are also okay.
