I've just recently taken up guitar lessons and already have Fix You pretty well down but that's an easy song to learn because it's only 4 chords and they go in the same order throughout the song. I was wondering what other Offspring songs are pretty easy to learn on guitar? I'm just a beginner so I want to learn the easy stuff before I move on to the harder stuff.

All Offspring songs are super easy to learn on guitar. They're very accessible for a new guitar player. Just pick your favorite song and figure out the chords. :)

Kick Him When He's Down, Nitro, Takes Me Nowhere, Americana. Those are fun to play.

Can't Get My Head Around You is the song I find the easiest for beginners.

The first one I knew to play was Dirty Magic, the main riff is played on just two strings! Too easy, man.

Mine was the Kids Aren't Alright, but Self-Esteem is the one for beginners. 4 chords, sheer gold.

Every Offspring song is easy to play.
The easiest? Maybe Self-Esteem, Gone Away, YGGFK...

That right there. No one can tell if you are a beginner or virtuoso when you play Self Esteem perfectly. There is one guitar part, and it's easy as pie.

they are all pretty easy. most of them are just a four power chord progression. i agree with free? saying can't get my head around you. that was the first song i was able to pull off singing and playing at the same time.

Vultures, Gotta Get Away and Cant get my head around you, are the easiest i think?
Also, Gone Away, but the bridge is dificult enough

Some people are giving you bad advice. Just listen to me: Self Esteem, Gotta Get Away, Dirty Magic are good ones to start with.

I've been playing guitar for 7 years now and I can play every song by The Offspring. I think the first song I learned was Gone Away. It's not too difficult and will ultimately make you better. Some other good ones to start with are:

Self Esteem
Why Don't You Get A Job?
Fix You
Takes Me Nowhere
Spare Me the Details
Long Way Home (Maybe?)

I'm not sure how quick of a learner you are so I guess it's really different for everyone but those are definitely the most basic.

Oh, also, The Noose is pretty easy and fun to play

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't think I'm ready to try Takes Me Nowhere or Can't Get My Head Around You just yet. The chord changes go pretty fast in those songs. I'll definitely give Self-Esteem a try.

The key to learning a fast song is to pace yourself. Play it slow, get familar with the chord progression, then speed it up.

This.

And I think the best one to start with as has been said it Self Esteem. Gotta Get Away is a good one too.

I'd love to learn Gotta Get Away. That was the song I used 9 years ago when I auditioned for the band I'm still in to this day. It was on drums though.

gotta get away... first song I learned.

You play guitar? :0

I think the first song I learned was Gone Away... none of the complicated stuff, just the power chords. I didn't learn the rest to recently actually, but I never really tried until then.

My first full Offspring song :).

You can easy learn a lot Offsprings' songs. For example, Cool To Hate, Amazed, Not The One, Genocide, Huck it, Bloodstains (rhythm guitar), Come Out & Play, Original Prankster....

The list is big. Much songs are easier than it seems.

I play guitar since 2002. So I started with Offspring's chords and finished with Metallica's solo. Now I can play much.

I like play Offspring. This band is one of classic band in rock history. Live legend. Modern rock music is not so different like before. Many music styles mix, and many bands are reminds each other.. Offspring have individuality. Maybe that's why a lot of people love these guys? The Offspring was, is and will. So classic never dies :)
