This was inspired by RODNEYMULLEN's recent "Sin City" Thread (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38071):

I was thinking (maybe it is too much too ask) but could it be possible to replace most of The Offspring’s B-Sides and Covers (from their maxi-singles) to a pure 320kbps CD mp3 rip? Don’t get me wrong, I am well aware we can’t do that to all the songs seeing as many of them are from old vinyl records, demo cassettes, and out-of-print compilation Cds.

But it could be possible to replace the more modern B-Sides and Covers from the “newer” singles. Songs like “Sin City”, “One Hundred Punks”, “Totalimmortal”, “Autonomy”, “Bloodstains”, or “80 Times” have a higher possibility of being ripped at 320kbps, right? It’s not as if these singles are hard to come by in various countries outside of North America? (Correct me if I’m wrong.) All three songs off “Club Me” for instance can easily be ripped to 320, right? Since that disc isn’t as hard to come by these days.

While the current quality that is available of these files (through Offspringbootlegs.info (http://www.offspringbootlegs.info/)) are pretty substantial; they mostly range from 128kbps to 192kbps, which is good to an extent, but you can still hear a lot of the “washed” and “grind” sound from the instrumentation (most notably the drums). Though I acknowledge that 320kbps is still compressed, it still a closer representation of the CD sound that an mp3 can get.

Also, don’t think I don’t appreciate the amazing work at Offspringbootlegs.info, cause honestly, I love that site. The community has done an amazing job getting all these B-Sides/Tracks/Rarities up on big database for new and old fans to enjoy. Plus they even include the artwork too most (if not all) the singles. However, I have also noticed that many of the mp3 downloads are the same ones that have been circling the internet for many, many, many years. Even in the age of torrents, the same old 2.3MB, 128kbps files are still making the rounds all over the net.

So, sorry if you think I am asking too much. But I thought this would be a good suggestion and it doesn’t really sound that far off. Just wondering what you all might think.

*I really hope this doesn’t turn into an mp3 sound quality war/debate.*

This is a great idea.

I've got a good version of "Total Immortal" in mp3. I'm going to share it with you guys.

Here it goes:

http://rapidshare.com/files/242808373/Total_Immortal___AFI_Cover_.mp3.html

It can only be downloaded 10 times, though. I tried to upload it in megaupload.com and mediafire.com, but either of those wouldn't work :(

Here it is. 224 kbps, the same as yours ;) Another contribution, with no download limit, I think.

Sorry to bump this thread. But can anyone upload all the (studio) b-sides in 320kbps? Or .wav?

Would love to have these songs, but I lost them over the years..

Thanks.
