So I had people told me that they liked the Eels.

You may have noticed that I am quite obsessed with that band, especially because they just released a new album...

so here is the Eels thread. Great band and first one signed by Dreamworks, which started in the 90's with their very successful album Beautiful Freak and the hit Novocaine for the Soul:

Went on with their very dark (and so good) album, Electro Shock Blues which talks about death on every song, sometime in a way that you don't expect:

Here is Last stop to this Town I love the singing carrot:

After this one, they made a nice, full of color, album that has the great name of Daisies of the Galaxy... you may have heard some songs of that one, like this one: Mr E's Beautiful Blues... unfortunately synched on Road trip...

but also the song Flyswatter that got me into the band.

After that, they gave back nice melodies for electric guitar and it gave Souljacker... one of my favorite albums:

Watch this beautiful video, directed by Mr Wim Wenders:

Then Shootenany ! Least favorite album of mine but with one or 2 cool songs such as Lone Wolf.

But here is Saturday Morning:

Then, after loong years, Mr E. finally came back with an album called Blinking Lights and Other revelations. A double CD (at least, when they come back after several year, they come back with 30 songs :D) with a lot of slow songs...
here is the video clip made with no budget at all for "Hey Man, now you're really living". Hilarious I think.

Finally, Hombre Lobo was released this june. Here is the song that I like the most for now: Fresh Blood

So, is there any other Eels fan in here ? or at least people who like the band ? what is yur favorite album ? favorite song ? Why do you think this is such a great band ?

If you didn't know the band but decided to take the time to watch the videos, what do you think ?

Then I suggest you listen to songs like Dog Faced Boy, Jungle Telegraph or Teenage witch... they don't have the same obsessing rythm and cool riff (yes this is really a good song) but they kind of have the same sound...
