And may Elvis turn in his grave, and Les Paul kiss my dirty, calloused fingers.

What a pity. He helped almost every modern musician with his inventions.

I thought is was cool that he died with his friends and family by his side.

I think he somehow felt that I recently put my LP away in favor of playing my SG extensively. Sorry.

I would be sad, except I thought he was already dead. Nothing but respect for that guy.

MURDERER!!!

But really, 94 years old? You can't really expect much else from a man his age.

I didn't know that was a person. So I don't care. :)

Out of curiosity and my terrible memory, who were the other two you predicted?

Paul Harvey and Bea Arthur.

Paul Harvey and Bea Arthur.

Didn't you predict Micheal Jackson too, or was that someone else?

I didn't, but I kicked myself for not doing so. It kind of took everyone by surprise, so whoever predicted him got lucky. I looked at my pm to Jakebert, Les Paul was actually #1 on the list.

I had Amy Winehouse as #2, but unfortunately for my score, she seems to have cleaned up her act.

Don't lose hope yet. Miracles can happen.

I'm seriously going to avoid any sort of joke with this at all, because I'm actually bummed about this. He was an absolutely legend, and just seemed like one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Rashied Ali, a famous jazz drummer passed away too. He's worked with folks ranging from John Coltrane to John Zorn.

I don't think I've ever actually heard anything by either him or Les Paul, but I've been aware of them.

Actually, just saw a Les Paul thingy on youtube. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cymdQXNjcHs) is the first song ever recorded using multi-tracking, something he invented which has been used by pretty much everyone everywhere since then.

Now I'll never be able to afford a voodoo lp :(

Poor guy, sorry to hear him passing, he's a real contributor to rock n roll

Actually the original Sg's are Les Paul's too...they have it written on their headstocks.

Sorta true, the SG was created originally by Gibson without Les' consent, they made it to try to compete with the Fender Strat, because it looked futuristic and was putting the Les Paul out of business.

Until Les told Gibson to take his name off them because he thought they were garbage.

I don't particularly share that sentiment, but you can't really refer to an SG as a Les Paul.

Oh my god, if you listen to that backwards, you can hear them saying "Les Paul is Dead".
