View Full Version : Featuring/Collaborations

For some insane reason I love these. Songs that have a "featured" artist, or a collaboration of several different groups. It's more common amongst the Pop/Rap type genres, but occasionally breaks into other areas.

I was hoping that people could post some of their favorite collaborations.

Here's a few to get us started:
Saw Red - Sublime featuring Gwen Stefani
Any of the Big D and the Kids Table songs featuring the girls from Tip The Van
All Of This - Blink 182 featuring Robert Smith
Crack Rock Steady - Choking Victim featuring some guy I don't know, songs good though
Gone - Kanye West featuring Consequence and CamRon, not that I've heard of them
Bad Town - Operation Ivy featuring...well ok this one doesn't count.
She Has A Girlfriend Now - Reel Big Fish featuring the girl from Save Ferris
Drivin Me Wild - Common & Lily Allen

I'm pretty sure there's a Dwarves song with Dexter Holland on it too but I don't think I liked it.

Yep, two songs of Dexter with The Dwarves - Massacre and Salt Lake City.

I usually don't like collaborations, but the Serj Tankian ones are great (Dog Fashion Disco ft. Serj - Mushroom Cult, (hed) P.E ft. Serj and many others - Feel Good, Wu-Tang ft. Serj and some others - Will They Die for You?, Tony Iommi ft. Serj - Patterns).

And also all Roadrunner United songs and Strait Up! album by Snot.

I really liked

Southside (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV0KmOYfomM) between Moby and Gwen Stefani
Perfect Day between Collective Soul and Elton John
Joanie in the City between Joan Jett and Girl in a Coma
La Fiesta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFuPGlCVhL0) between Chick Corea and Stan Getz
This is a Rebel Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3hoFYMgMVw) with No Use for a Name and Karina Denike
Keep on Hoping (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAK5jy0zW_I) with Raul Midon and Jason Mraz
The One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ3PkTCZnzg) with Stevie Nicks and Vanessa Carlton

That's all I got. Good stuff, though.

I <3 Serj, but the only one of those I know is Feel Good. I like his singing in that, but I hate that song and (hed) P.E. so I never looked into the rest of his collaborations... maybe I should.

That No Use For A Name song is pretty spectacular. Although i don't know who the other artist is.

She's the singer of Dancehall Crashers... a pretty mediocre punk band, but I always loved her voice. That's definitely one of my favorite NUFAN songs (even though it's a cover). :)

Uhm, edit to my previous post. That System's song with Wu-Tang is called Shame. Will They Die for You? is P.Diddy, Mase, Lil' Kim & System Of A Down. And there's another pretty good collaboration - Serj ft. Buckethead and Shanna Halligan - Waiting Hare.

I forgot about one of my favorite collaborations of all time.

Soon I'll Be Dead - Leftover Crack with World Inferno Friendship Society.

I recommend this to almost anyone. It doesn't sound anything like Leftover Crack so I know all the haters out there can't hate on it for that.

Couldn't find a decent version of it on youtube, shame.

Original Prankster - The Offspring and Redman
The Saints Are Coming - U2 and Green Day
Walk This Way - Run DMC and Aerosmith

Three I can think of.
