View Full Version : How Should I Lose Weight Properly

It may not be the most righteous category for this question, but since weight loss is a global endemic, I was sure that there will possibly be some men or ladies in this forum, who have been on any weight loss plans at all. In case you have some familiarity whatsoever please share.

I am especially unsure on what weight loss product to order, as there are so several alternatives in the market. The latest hypes on Oprah similar to hoodia gordonii or coleus do not make this issue simpler. I actually do not have an idea where to begin, should I opt for an exact weight loss plan, schedule of workouts...All I have come to realize is that a modification is needed. I go days eating nothing but a few slices of bread. We don't much food other than Hot Pockets anyway!

Just use a smaller plate for dinner & eat slower. You'll eat less, digest better & recognise more easily when you're full than when you're binging. Use your bike when you go anywhere, instead of public transportation, or the car.

It's a real easy start & it took 15kg off of me.

Go to the gym. Incline and decline tread mills and cycle a lot.
I skip breakfast, and have lunch, lite dinner and have a meal supplement protein shake.

This is what i get at the gym. I only get the strawberry one and use apple juice.

Skipping breakfast slows down your metabolism. It's a recognised medical fact that the best way to battle obesity in the community, is to maintain a healthy breakfast-routine.

I have a fast metabolism.I eat dinner around 8pm most of the week and that keeps me full till lunch time.

Also drinking 1-2 gal of water each day helps loose weight. I used to go to school, work, gym with a gal of water each day.

the weight of poo is irrelevant to your fat mass, unless you speed up the rate at which you poo & go for incomplete digestion.

Ohh! That's just to speed up the rate of digestion. Fibers attrackt water into the intenstines, adding to the bulk volume of poo & softening it, also stimulating the bowels movement-wise. So basically Al-Bran is to activate your bowels (which is good & which is why having breakfast overal is so healthy).
I thought you were more thinking along the lines of using craploads of laxants. :/

Well I mean, it could be a way one would lose weight, since people seem to have a lot of junk in their trunk that never makes it out. Elvis did have a 40 pound colon you know. Gotta clean that shit out.

I lost about 25 pounds working as an overnight grocery stocker at Walmart; did that for about a year, then became a Department Manager and gained it back. LOL The entire year I worked as a stocker I never watched what I ate, yet I still lost weight; I continued my crappy diet when I became a Department Manager, therefore I gained most of it back. My job as a Department Manager still requires me to be active, just not as much as I was when I was a stocker; but I am still able to maintain a consistant weight.

Three years ago, I weighed 330 pounds. Now I'm down to 259. The best tips I can give is to do a mixture of weightlifting and cardio. Don't do too much right away - gradually work your way up.

My current workout is supposed to be six days a week (but working as a full-time sports reporter cuts down a few days):
- 5 minute warm up on treadmill. This could be walking if you're starting out. I run for five to ten minutes.
- Alternating between upper body and lower body for weightlifing. Four sets of 8 to 10 exercises.
- Abs at least three days a week.
- End with twenty to thirty minutes of cardio. Elliptical, bike, treadmill.

Watch calories and try to keep around 2,000 or less. Once in awhile, you can get away with getting a pizza.
