I am not sure if anyone has seen the South Park episodes but I always thought it was harmless and nobody took it seriously. Apparently elementary and highschool kids are actually kicking gingers on November 20th! is this happening around you???

Just because they're doing it doesn't mean they're taking it seriously. More like using it as an excuse to act like idiots which they would anyways.

It never ceases to amaze me that shows with idiotic premises like South Park and Jackass inspire the dumbest acts of lunacy possible. You'd think people would figure out that it's just meant to be entertainment.

I don't know about 'idiotic premises'; South Park is quite the political commentator.

But yeah, kids just look for excuses to behave this way. If they hadn't seen the episode they wouldn't have done this, but then if another TV show made a satirical statement about, say, homophobia, and it became one of those crazes/memes in a particular school, there would be a good old fashioned gay-bashing a-foot.

Moral of the story is that children are manipulative and evil :)
