I liked it. I'm a sucker for these jokes, I give it 8/10, which is a very good rating in my opinion.

What's the difference between a Cadillac Escalade and a golf ball? Tiger woods can drive a golf ball 400 yards.

I've noticed that in general, people tend to consider a score of "5" as negative, rather than "average", which is what you'd think it would mean since 5 is the median number. It's a strange phenomenon.

5 would be the neutral number, the one that leaves you the same as before. The one where if you hadn't heard the joke you'd probably feel the exact same way.

Therefore to make the joke even worthwhile you should be hitting at least a 6.5. And by that relative reckoning of course a 5 becomes negative.

Plus, it's kind of childish to just assume that because 5 is exactly in the middle it means average. 50%, or half-accomplishing something leads to a resounding negative outcome, even though it's the midpoint.

I think it's pretty much understood that every joke in this format is not original, nor is it meant to be. They're meant to be retold to get a joke out, and I don't think that's unusual or strange, that seems to be the way most jokes are spread around.

True, but I've noticed this same thing when it involves something other than jokes. Like physical appearance. You wouldn't fuck a "4" even though she's only a little under average. Unless you were drunk. Or perhaps there is a similar sort of explanation to this?
