View Full Version : European festivals 2010?

So, anyone dare to throw a wild guess that they could be playing some festival(s) in Europe this year? Because the time is really running out, I only see a little chance that they'd play some in the end of the summer, but really small of a chance... because so far they haven't been announced to any. And the clock is ticking, and they're not the smallest band around that you can announce a week before. I swear they get good offers, but will they pick any? Reading or Leeds? What are your guesses?

Even though they would record the album at the time, they could take the time if they want to. But do they want, that's the question. :D

Like Dexter wrote some time ago in one of his latest diaries: " EUropean summer festival tour or new album recording? what do you prefer? I guess it's the second option" something like that.

Zee

Yeah, I remember that. It was around Splinter, right?

Anyway, they could do a little "sick of the studio" tour like Metallica between the album recording, heh.

Also, remember that Dexter said "we'll see you in 2010". Something will happen, but is it a new album in late summer / fall? Or some gigs? Only time will tell.

Anyway, maybe, just maybe still some small chances. In 2008 they got on the European festival train real late! Download was the first one to be announced, and that was on February 4th.

They might be too fat for these kind of festivals with middle budget. Anyway, it'll be great, if they play it :D I'm a huge WCR fan)

Leeds/Reading could be very "punk rock" this year. Sick rumours regarding these two.

I'd rather prefer a tour at summer especially in Europe, and after it, at the and of the year a new album. I would be absolutely satisfied.

Absolutely true, but they should confirm the dates sooner than last year. I bought tickets for a German festival and about a month later they confirmed a festival date in Austria. Still it was a good choice.

Don't forget that Blink 182 is a lot more *now* then The Offspring. They got back together not too long ago after some bad break-up and stuff.
So they might not be be bigger stars, but just more in the picture.

I don't know who got the list, I saw it first at the users RonWelty's site, and there it read that it was from some Portuguese site... I don't think anyone is that idiot that would make himself a list like that with Photoshop or something.

Anyway, I don't know about Blink playing in Germany the same weekend, but they are confirmed in all the speculations around the internet to play Reading/& Leeds.

That might not be the official list, but it seems like at least The Offspring will be playing at the Reading Festival.
Todd Morse re-twitted something about it on his Twitter page, check it out: http://twitter.com/toddsplanet/status/9606283986

(Yep, he got that from my Twitter acount. lol I feel so awesome... Also, he's following me. :P)

So it was from Portuguese site... oh man, dear RonWelty, don't say it was you! :D

He got that poster off of another Portuguese site, a reliable one, so, it's not RonWelty's fault if it turns out it was not the actual line-up list... But let's hope it is, I might go to that concert, if I gather enough money by then, that is.

That's actually Portuguese, although there's a Twit in English at @offspringsite, he probably didn't see it.
When you want to spread some news on twitter but are too lazy to write something with your own words, you ususally Re-Twit (Notice the RT at the beginning) something. So, he's kind of confirming The Offspring's presence at the festival, as he probably have heard something about it.

Sum 41, AFI and Bad Religion are playing at T-Mobile Playgrounds (04/25/2010) in Duisburg, Germany!!! Wooohooo! I'm so attending that! What is more, there will be BMX Dirt and MTB Slopestyle competitions, Rob Darden and Ryan Nyquist will be there. Holy shit! I can't wait. Anyone else wanna go?

I would guess that they'll be free at the end of the August... the two U.S dates has been already up quite some time and they're on late June. Maybe this is wishful thinking, I don't know.

Hopefully they'll tour Europe after the US...although for some reason I expect they'll just go back to the studio, maybe.
If they do play Europe though, I hope they play some of their own shows...I dont have enough money or willing friends for festivals.

Either Weeze or Dusseldorf International. From Dusseldorf International there is a direct trainconnection with Duisburg (I'm 99% sure of that).
From Weeze there might be a direct car-connection (as I'd be able to pick you up there ;)) But Dusseldorf International would be more practical for you, since there's hotels in the area.
