Two years after one of the two the front men of the Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page, was charged with and admitted to cocaine use, the band is releasing its first album without him... Ed Robertson had always shared vocals with him, but most of their famous songs featured Steve as the more recognized singer.

I'd wondered what the band would sound like without him... Ed usually sang the faster less melodic lyrics, while Steve sang the stronger melodies. But their new single really goes against anything I would've ever expected. I wanna say it's really generic, and doesn't really sound like BNL... but at the same time, I don't really feel that's true.

Supposedly, the lyrics are about Steven. I don't know if there are other BNL fans here... but even if you're not a fan, what do you think of this compared to their other stuff?
