Hey fellow BBSers,
I'm getting a new guitar amplifier and would like your opinion.
I'm looking for things around 500/600 €.
(head+speaker).
I got many mixed reviews but I can't try all the amplifiers of this world. I'm open to any kind of suggestion, but just to let you know: I don't dislike the hughes & kettner / fender sound, but I prefer a "hotter" tone, like Kustom or things like that.
I play an Ibanez with DiMarzio humbuckers + a single coil, through an Ibanez TS9 overdrive pedal.

P.S. For that price I'm referring to transistors of course ;)

I'm a huge fan of Line 6 products, I love the flexibility they give you. For example, Line 6 Flextone III XL amp. 2x12", 150W (this thing is LOUD) and tons of cool tones for 550EUR.

BUT

If you don't care about flexibility as much and you really want a head+cabinet set, there is an interesting tube head for 299EUR.

I can tell you're from Italy, so here you go:

It has very good reviews on Musician's Friend, but I have never heard it, you have to decide for yourself. I'm not saying it's the best choice, I've seen it and I thought I might post it here because it looks interesting.

This amp called the Tone Blaster Xtreme from Ibanez. I've been watching it for over a year, and the great majority of reviews sing its praises. Whenever I get a new head (I should say A head since I don't have one), this will be it.

Description and reviews on Zzounds (http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBATBX150H), reviews on Harmony-Central (http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar+Amp/product/Ibanez/TBX150H+Tone+Blaster+Xtreme/10/1).

Speaker cabs...have you ever thought about getting like an empty one, and loading it with whatever speakers you like. It may be more or less expensive than buying one. Definitely less than something loaded with Celestions if you get the right ones. I swear by Eminence. I bought an empty speaker cab, one Eminence Texas Heat, and one Eminence Man O War for $210 and I'll put them in today when I get the Man O War. Anyway, just giving you some options.
