Could we ditch all the new recording technology and record the album using old analogue techniques? The albums are so perfectly mastered and pieced together that the end result sounds so perfect it is a little synthetic.

Just for shits and giggles, lets hear an album recorded the old school way, just this once! Pretty Preeez? :D

They will make the album how they fucking want it to be, and that is tru punx. Also, I find it hard to agree with Robert Fico.

Isn't that what Metallica tried to do with St. Anger??? Look how that turned out. They even had Bob Rock as well.

I like the direction they went with the last one and it would be cool if it had that exact same sound. I could be in the minority here but I think Bob Rock is the best producer they've ever had.

I find it amusing that Polish is in favor of a less polished sound for the next record.

Yeah, I dig Bob Rock. RafRag's overly produced sound is not necessarily my favorite, though (I consider CO1 era to be the band's best sonic effort). He seems to expand the band's minds in ways that hadn't been done before.

And methinks there should be a new "new album" stickied thread. :D

I would to say: "Trust In You" You=The Offspring :p

I think they should do a rap album... maybe with a few country songs, but only for marketing purposes.

I've always thought that the offspring and eminem could collaborate and put out a pretty damn good tune. :o

i dont see them reading this thread and thinking its a really good idea but its an interesting thought in some ways. the label would probably put a block on it though!

Well, in-case they do happen to read the thread, I propose a challenge:

Record the same exact song using both methods and let us hear them both. That way, we can really decide which sounds better. :D

LMFAO!

& I would rather hear an album that sounds more like their old-school stuff, but obviously either way i would still love it. But it's the albums like Ignition & Ixnay, or even Splinter that have really stuck w/ me.

While cool, I don't think the latter is a good representation of the kind of recording techniques they use today.

Funny, that made me think of the lyrics of Pork & Beans...
