I was searching for an interview I swore I remembered today, but I couldn't find it...I want to say that a member of the band was asked about the album and said that it was X% complete, although I can't remember anything else about it.

Did this actually even happen, or am I imagining things?

I don't think they've specified how complete the album is at this point, but we do know they've been working on it.

I suppose they are almost done. They've debuted one complete song already. Thats usually a sign that writing and recording is nearing completion, but don't take my word on that.

It would fantastic if The Offspring and AWS released their new albums at the same time. I would become overcome by joy.

Perhaps it was Greg K

While fans may be anxious to hear some new tracks from the band, Kriesel said The Offspring’s next CD is still in its “demo stage”--although they are “getting close.” The group hopes to release their ninth studio album, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, later this year, although Kriesel acknowledged that sometimes the process can take "a bit longer than you anticipate.”

I guess that makes sense, because according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Offspring), "The Offspring is currently taking a break from recording their ninth studio album".

I know. But that's all I can report whether or not they're still making the new album.
