After the amazing Bluegrass Tribute to The Offspring (http://www.amazon.com/Bluegrass-Tribute-Offspring-Americano/dp/B000NI3F6U), the fantastic String Quartet Tribute to The Offspring (http://www.amazon.com/String-Quart-Tribute-Offspring/dp/B0007GP6RO), the enjoyable Greatest/Worst Tribute to The Offspring Ever (http://www.amazon.com/Worst-Tribute-Offspring-Ever/dp/B000QZXM0E), the I-can't-remember-if-I-ever-heard-it Guitar Tribute to The Offspring (http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Tribute-Offspring-Various-Artists/dp/B00013RCBQ)* and the doubtful The Rebels Tribute to The Offspring (http://alturl.com/ttwk3), and most famously The Forums Tribute To The Offspring (http://www.offspring.com/community/showthread.php?t=34617) I came across this tribute:

http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/049/Music/47/64/a5/mzi.xpauojgh.170x170-75.jpg

If you feel like you can make a fair judgment to the tribute solely on its cover and its simple title "A Tribute to The Offspring", you're judgment probably won't be all that different after hearing the songs' previews:

1. Self Esteem
2. Smash It Up - tribute to a tribute, why not...
3. Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)
4. Why Don't You Get a Job?
5. The Kids Aren't Alright
6. She's Got Issues
7. Original Prankster
8. Defy You
9. Hit That

Apparently released in July 2006, but never surfaced due to crappiness. Yet it is for for sale and previews can be heard here:

*someone upload the Guitar Tribute please, thank you :)

One of the things I love most about Offspring is that no one can sound like Dexter. Anyone can do a Billie Joe Armstrong, Tom Delonge, or even Joey Ramone, but doing Dexter is impossible, no matter how shrill or nasally they sing. Even the "Sound-Alike" isn't close, though he does appear to at least be able to sing.

That said, I'm underwhelmed by this tribute. It was okay, but it was very basic. And those fake drums are terrible.

PS. Tijs IS sexy.

I think I posted s Spotify-link to it before. But I will guess that no one here uses Spotify.

Edit: I could not find it, so I would guess that I did not.

Very, very true. The "nasal" factor is difficult to imitate.

for some reason, I have a mental video of Brian Molko singing Pretty Fly for a White Guy now... :(

Considering how few countries Spotify is available in, that'd be a pretty wise guess.

Seven countries. And Tijs live in one of them.

Spotify is currently only available in Sweden, Spain, Norway, Finland (including the ┼land Islands), France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom

For the Netherlands, does it include the islands Aruba, Bonaire, Curašoa, Saba and Saint Martin as well?

Deezer is available in more countries. I don't know if it works better than Spotify but it's french, so it has to be better

Seriously though, Deezer is cool. The only problem is it's like youtube. When you send a link to a song, you never know if the rights have been cleared everywhere... but at least, the website is available... :D
