View Full Version : Red Hot Chili Peppers and their new album

It's coming out this June, drummer Chad Smith says so in this clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb_hDLqtmsQ&feature=player_embedded). This obviously may not be as good as the John Frusciante-era, but I'll still check it out.
Also, they posted some pictures from the studio, you can check them out here (http://www.examiner.com/music-news-in-san-francisco/red-hot-chili-peppers-post-pics-from-the-studio).

Josh Klinghoffer is a more than worthy replacement for Frush(whose solo albums i own...all the way back to Niandra), and played with John-era Chilis at some of the best gigs a few years back.
I think the new album will be good, hopefully more Californication than One Hot Minute, and even more hopefully with more of an album feel to it. SA was to disjointed with some songs imo feeling out of place.
But, whatever i'll buy the fucker and enjoy the shit out of it anyway. The bias was set in aboot 15 years ago and the Chilis could sell shit and i'd gladly buy it.

They're almost finished with the new album, so it looks like it will actually be released in June.

The as yet untitled album is due for release in March this year and will be the Chili's first new release since 2006ís 'Stadium Arcadium'.

Not to mention that Josh is basically John's understudy, if anyone can live up to JF, it's Josh.
At this point, the only thing that could make me more excited for new music this year, is if John released a new solo album. That would complete it for me. The song that he released after The Empyrean, "Here, Air" was great, reminded me of something from Niandra. Got me excited for what's next.

Aye, here air is great. Definately a Niandra sound. Maybe we'll get a 4-track album. Now that'd fecking rock!!.

I'd be stoked! Make it happen John! :P
I'm liking the new pictures:
Josh kinda looks like John here, good sign haha

Josh does look scarily John-esque. Especially withe the strat as well. hmmm, also why's Vince Vaughn sat behind him. Anthony looks like his dad, which is not odd i suppose, i wonder if he's wearing flares. I hope so.
