Wow... In a Spanish commercial? I am rather surprised... Russia I get, they use anything without consent, but Spain?

Why do you think it was used without consent?

I think Pepsi bought rights to use that song. Otherwise they will get a lawsuit.

Well, I've seen better ads and Pepsi surely wouldn't use the term "fu****" in one of their ads (thus the modification).
And honestly I don't see the relation song / product here ... someone enlighten me ;) (or is it just me?).

Too bad for realism of that one that they weren't drinking smirnoff or something like that. But here's also some kind of charm in such a clumsy commercials... You drink pepsi, and everything becomes better. Yeah.
All in all, I'd like to see it on my tv.

Oxygene> Shit happens about clearance. If someone in the record company forgets to read the contract that says "express clearance from the artist to use the song on commercials/films/anything' which it doesn't always say, sometimes, rights are cleared without the artists even knowing it.

I remember how E (Eels singer) was pissed when he heard by spanish journalists that his song "I like Birds" was used on a spanish commecial when his contract especially said he must give his authorization. He thought the commercial center (which the commercial was for) used it without clearance. It turned out they got it from the record company and he wasn't even aware of it...

I doubt Pepsi Cola would risk a commercial without clearance you know... even if it's Pepsi Cola Russia or Pepsi Cola Spain... And you know, it could also happen that they gave consent...
