Today Metalunderground.com (http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=66831)posted some April Fools Joke article about a new Rage Against the Machine album called Alaska Myself. It read:

Politically motivated rockers Rage Against The Machine has announced that they are backing former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin for the presidency in 2012, even though she has yet to confirm whether or not she will run for office. The band, who have previously caused controversy by voicing their support for the Zapitista Army of National Liberation and forcing the doors of the New York Stock Exchange to close, has also revealed that they will indeed be working on a new studio album, their first since 1999’s, "The Battle Of Los Angeles," and that it will be influenced by their new found support of Sarah Palin. Entitled, "Alaska Myself," the band will be fusing their familiar guitar style and socially charged lyrics to protest the current administration and enforce their new found political leanings. The tracklisting is as follows:

1. The President Is Bad
2. Tax And Spend (Anthem Of the Liberals)
3. Juneau
4. I'd Rather Be An Elephant Than A Jackass
5. Going Rogue
6. Hunting Wolves
7. Don't Believe The Hope
8. An American Life
9. Lamestream Media
10. Red Star For A Red State
11. Tea Party, Not House Party
12. Mr. Obama, Tear Down This Wall
13. Hey Clinton, Get Back To Work
14. Love It Or Leave It
Bonus track: Born In The U.S.A. (Bruce Springsteen cover)

The track listing above also made me laugh.

The Dopamines reviews/articles at Punknews was a better one. If i hadn't known it was april fools day i woulda been like.... wait, is this a joke?

Punknews always bring their A-game on april fools: enjoyed the Dopamines thing quite a bit. Although i probably would have had the "The Dopamines join Screeching Weasel as new backing band" story as the first one posted.

It's definitely gotta be an April Fool's joke. Why would RATM name songs like "Red Star For a Red State", "The President Is Bad", "Lamestream Media" or "Mr. Obama, Tear Down This Wall"? These names obviously sound like names for either Anti-Flag, Bad Religion or even Pennywise songs.

I meant it as like, if i hadn't known it was april fools day I wouldn't have believed the article no matter what. Rage suddenly becoming crazy right wingers is fucking rediculous. but watever you know why they became right wingers? because anarchy.

That is such an awfully bad attempt at an April Fools joke. I mean seriously.
