I would not have thought that I'd get to watch a new video from that era... incredible! And once again Greg K. demonstrates who is the most badass Offspring member :D

Wow that was pure gold! Really funny and awesome to see the band like that, when they were even younger than I currently am probably.

EXCELLENT good but why he takes so long to share that video ?Probably it was just one of the many bands the TV station filmed during that time, and he just had it stored on his PC somewhere and didn't think of it/see it until now. Glad that he finally did though!

Dexter seems amateur as a frontman, lol at his eyeroll about 0:22. Noodles is still same after 20 so years, I don't have words for Greg- he's the coolest after Noodles. Ron must be the luckiest 17-year old back then.

Wins:

Greg about 0:17 - standing steadily while chewing gum
Noodles' shirt and hair
Noodles about 1:36
Everything about Noodles

Great find. Must have been an early recording of the song, they're clearly not playing live, but the guitar tracks are different than on the final ST album.

Yep, a demo from the Tehran demo cassette and the They Were Born to Kill bootleg.

they also taped them doing out on patrol for that session and an interview that turned into a food fight. the show was called rockstock...a little public access show here in orange county. same show that taped beheaded a few years later.

Man, do you think you can get your hands on that stuff? Or do you know anyone who possibly could? Would be pretty awesome to watch it, I'm sure everyone else on here would love it, too!

It's interesting, indeed. Old, but great quality, it's somehow fascinating.

Dexter looks like Justin Bieber from left profile. Ron's mullet. Greg K's hat. Noodles haven't changed his pose at all.

I got in contact with garagefan8 (the uploader of the video) to find out more about this video and besides the information already given ("Here's The Offspring from June 7, 1988 when they appeared on my public access tv show "Rockstock" performing the song Jennifer Lost The War") he also told me that the video was shot in Huntington Beach and the name of the director is David Dunn.

Made a music video using the footage. Very different tempos indeed, it wasn't an easy edit.

I figured I'd bump this thread instead of start a new one. Does anyone have anymore info on The Offspring on Rockstock? I know garagefan8 has more to share, but he hasn't been active recently. He mentioned a show at Huntington Beach Moose Lodge in 1989 (when searching, I found the closest concert was 1988 on December 4th). Either way, I'm thankful for what we've gotten; few people have seen it when it aired, and it's a real treat to step back into the time machine.

Thanks for bumping this thread. I hadn't actually seen this video since I wasn't active on here in 2011. Interesting to watch the two side by side. Thanks!

Looky what I found...
http://i41.tinypic.com/2d0kq6t.jpg
(This was on The Offspring site around 2000)

Not sure which appearance this flyer was in promotion of; could be either 1988, 1989, or 1992 (though all of the other flyers were from the band's Nemesis days).
