I have a bored passion for making playlists. This is my best punk rock(ish) playlist. I like to avoid songs that are a little too predictable (like Damnit by Blink 182), and I pick songs that seem to have a good flow, not just a "best of" type thing. Any advice/comments/criticisms?

I'd suggest getting into some new bands: most of that list, (which is fine, not a band on there that i dislike, except for the Unseen) seems to be from the 90s.... there's a lot of good newer stuff out there.

Yeah, I need to do that in general. I didn't get into much punk rock from the 00's. Any suggestions off the top of your head?

BTW, I've noticed The Kid's Aren't Alright and maybe Self-Esteem seem to be the only songs most people will like to hear if you put it on at a party. I guess this could vary slightly depending on your location though.

I always feel sort of awkward recommending new music to people, since there's always the chance they just end up hating everything that I like.... but A few bands you may enjoy since they're all melodic-punk, and sound similarish to 90s fat wreck/epitaph stuff are:

Off With Their Heads
Song: Drive

that mix seems kinda crowded man, i wouldn't put soo many songs from the same band on there.

I'd suggest getting into Big D and the Kids Table, The Ergs!, The Lillingtons, The Copyrights, Pinhead Gunpowder, Slapstick, the Broadways, Dead To Me, and pretty much everything Jacknife said.

My critique is that you listen to Blink 182. Other than that, there are a lot of great bands outside the US too.

I mean, TKAA?? It's one of their best songs, even if it's also one of the most known, but if you don't want any obvious songs, as you claim, there are plenty more optinons.

Yeah, I guess there's room for some good old school punk in there.

Jacknife, I'm liking Heartsounds.

Try Killradio. I have more suggestions, but I'm too lazy to write them out.

Throw on anything from Aglio E Olio from the Beastie Boys, it'll probably confuse a bunch of people if you're at a party.
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes always seems to put smiles on peoples faces, specially when i throw them on at work.
and Mixtapes, that band is great.

All of these are great suggestions.

I'm always sort of surprised when people get shocked to find out that the Beastie Boys used to play punk: a lot of their stuff past (and present) always seem to have fairly notable influences from the genre...

And got to love the Mixtapes: such catchy stuff.
