I'm perfectly fine with a drummer as awesome as Josh Freese handling the drums. But I really hope Pete has a commanding presence on the new record, just so we can see what he's capable of with the Offspring.

Well, happy four years to Pete Parada.

Wow, I didn't remember it being in July, but I do remember when the news first broke. Like someone else said, here's to at least four more years in this awesome band.

Question... Why is it you miss Ron? Is it just because he was the original drummer? Ron was a great part of the band when he was in the band, but to want him over Freese or Parada just for nostalgia sake...

It's like saying you like Scott Raynor as a better drummer than Travis Barker in Blink 182, or Joe Escalante was better than Freese in the Vandals.

Wow, it's been four years? That's freaking awesome.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but can someone complete this for me?:

Pete Parada: 2007-Present
Atom Willard: ?2003?-2007
Ron Welty: ?1989?-2001

Is that right? How long was Atom with the band?

I also do hope Pete's recording with the band this time around. I love Freese... his drumming, his writing, his attitude... he's incredible. But he's not truly a member of the band, and I'd rather the band's drummer, Pete, actually records with the band.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know how up on the process you are, but we now know that Josh is at least somewhat involved in the recording. As awesome as he is, I'd like his role to be as limited as possible, for the reason you stated.

Your dates for Pete and Atom are right on, but Ron came on board in 1987, and I guess he officially left the band in 2003.

ron joined in 1986 or 1987 adam willard was on the 2003 2004 and 2005 tours but didn't do anything with offspring in 2006 or 2007 since he was full time in angels and airwaves
