I can't believe it's been so long. Why does time always fly so fast?

It flies by at almost constant speed. If you count time as earth rotation around the sun, time is actually going slower due to our Moon.

Time is also constant because we experience it as constant.

What do all those comments have to do with the 13th anniversary of Americana?

Well, Desmond's conscience goes back in time to 1997, which is one year before Americana came out. Which means that a year after he talked to Faraday in the laboratory, he may have listened to "Pretty Fly" while preparing to race his boat around the world by running stadiums stairs with Jack.

Think about it guys. It explains everything.
