And I guess I want some feedback from people.

So tell me. Who here likes dubstep? What producers do you like? What style do you prefer, UK or American?

And finally, does anybody know how to get acapellas from not so well known songs like this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAQ7czXF-0M) and this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAGv-St_kew)?

What did you use in One More Time? It sounds disturbingly familiar. I liked it anyway.

I like to use dubstep for literall brain repair sometimes, my favourites tracks are those the most mechanical and drilling. I don't look for new songs too much, cause when I do I like 1 in 10 tracks on youtube and quiclky run out of patience. There's too much home-made shit in the worst meaning of that word.

This I liked recently
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i16V-SzExuk - I love the 'chorus'.

Literal: It doesn't mean what you think it means.

See if you can find instrumental versions, then you can invert the wave of either the version with vocals or the version without vocals and the music should cancel itself out and leave just the vocals. In theory.

I'm not sure what you mean. I used it as synonym for actual, real, verbatim, word-for-word. Because of those drilling sounds.

The drums in One More Time don't have enough of a presence. Do you layer them at all? Also compression, saturation etc add some serious raw energy. The wobbles are pretty sick. I feel like the rest of the song didn't get even half the attention or care that the wobbles did. The pad sounds familiar... are you using Ableton? The buildup is a little awkward with a small burst of hats for no reason and then the kicks before the drop feel a little forced (but it's a good idea, I think what you settled on just didn't ~quite~ fit). The piano in the back of the breakdown needs to be spiced up a bit. I dunno, it feels lopsided, like there's parts that make me want to dance but other pieces in and around it that kill the feeling. There's nothing going on before the third breakdown. A better idea for scaring people with a drop would be to have them fixated on a moment in dance and THEN BAM FUCK YOU MOSH MOTHERFUCKER. The outro is too short.

Dubstep 1 2 is pretty fucking fresh though. A little repetitive but the sounds, mix, and composition are a lot better. I don't have many complaints with this one.

I don't personally enjoy dubstep enough to care about who comes from where. I listen to very little of it actually... I was obsessed with Skrillex for a time and that made me want to make dubstep (I have been for about a year) and it's fun, so I keep doing and studying it but I don't listen to much of it recreationally. Glass Bones' remix of Bonfire is my current favorite dubstep song though.

The only place I know to get acapellas is http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ but they probably won't have what you're looking for.

I used FL Studio.

@Nieh, I looked everywhere on the web and there aren't any instrumentals out there. Not even shitty ones. Ive tried using Audition and Audacity to make an acapella or instrumental but it sounds horrible

@ Skrillex. I actually did layer them. I layered kicks, hats, snares, and cymbals. But you are right, the snares don't have too much presence. I can't find any decent snare samples. I've looked everywhere and I couldn't find any. The wobbles did get a huge amount of attention. Specially bass synthesis. I disagree that the rest of the song didn't get much attention though. Besides, one more time is a collab with one of my friends and we both take turns adding shit to the basses. Maybe the intro might be a bit awkward. Just a little. but idk, lots of people have said the intro is pretty sick and EVERYONE always praises the wobbles. I would appreciate if I could find some really punchy snares. I have downloaded 2 packs of samples and none of them have good snares. Thanks everyone for the views or reviews.

And btw, I'm working on a new track. It's going to have some female vocals added later on and the work on the bass is not quite done yet. This is more of a preview. Again, using same snares(suck) and I switched up the kicks which I shouldn't have done since they're are no as punchy

You probably already have them but: http://www.drumsamples.org/

I've gotten some pretty good results with these. I think I was being a little overly critical with that last post (I just reviewed my own stuff and I have a problem with the snares not being punchy enough as well). So far that new track sounds great! Nice flow and groove. I'd recommend putting some verb on dat snare (and maybe the hats) if you didn't plan to already.

Also, here's a few tips that sound good that ima try myself: http://dnbforum.com/showthread.php/67605-Punchy-kicks-and-snares-4-god-s-sake-HOW

Alright, I'll see what I can do. Is it just this 1 minute preview you need vocals for? I'll upload the track to a file sharing site. Might wanna get other people to do it, too, though, in case you don't like mine.

I had in mind having you sing some whoas in the beginning until the 20 second mark and then you could start singing whatever you wrote from the 20 second mark until 0:55. The singing should be really easy since I used that overused progression The Offspring and other bands like to use.

Btw, i was thinking of having two different sets of vocal melodies for the Bm, G, D, A progression. One could go from the :20 to :55 mark and the second different melody can go somewhere with the bass(I'll be manipulating the different vocal melodies for the progression)

I also forgot to mention I have a dubstep show coming up April 29 and if you feel that I gave you a short due date then now you know why :)

Thank you

I'm sorry, it's absolutely not gonna be done by the end of today... I just haven't found the inspiration for a good melody, though I've listened to the track like a dozen times. If you can find someone else to do it, by all means have them do it... but I'll try my best to come up with something soon.
