After two days, it's entered at #38. Here's to hoping it reaches #1!

I'm still waiting for it to be played on my favorite radio station. They've been playing a lot of Self Esteem, Come Out And Play, and Gotta Get Away but no Days Go By.

I'm glad to hear that!

I had trouble deciding whether or not I'd listen too, but after I did, I was 100% sure I made the right choice.

It isn't a bad song but there's nothing new in it. Future is now should be their only first single. But even then, I think that with Bob Rock songs lack emotion. They're just bland.

It rose to #31 today and entered the Mainstream charts at #38 as well. It's looking like it'll fare pretty well, unless it just loses all steam for some reason.

they need a video and a tour to pump it up.

didn't hammerhead enter the top 10 in 2008?

didn't hammerhead enter the top 10 in 2008?

It debuted at #5, actually, it was insanely successful it's first week. It reached #2, but it was kept off the top by Weezer's Pork and Beans.

It jumped five spaces to #26 today, and four to #34 on the mainstream charts.

yes but YGGFK killed that weezer's song. It was the most played in 2008.

It's actually a pretty funny story. Pork and Beans spent 11 weeks and #1 and kept Hammerhead at #2. Then You're Gonna Go Far, Kid spent 11 weeks at #1 and kept Weezer's Troublemaker at #2.

Troublemaker > Pork and beans
Hammerhead > YGGFK

Let's keep watching charts, I'm interested in it.

Up to #21 on the Alt, and #30 on the Mainstream.

Edit: Oddly enough, #21 and #30 is Half-Truism's exact peak.

Sweet! Hope it keeps going. I should maybe start listening to my local rock radio station again, to see if they play it. Hammerhead was the first Offspring song I ever heard on it, and Days Go By fits its format even better. So I'm sure it's in the rotation.

By the way, are the Billboard charts updated every day now or something?

Omni

I am looking at the Mediabase charts. They're the same thing, pretty much, very rarely are they ever off. You can search Mediabase Alternative and Mediabase Active rock in Google if you want to see for yourself. The Mediabase Mainstream rock chart IS incorrect, you'll have to search for Active Rock if you want the Mainstream chart's statistics.

Mediabase's Mainstream chart and the Active Rock chart are different charts. the Active chart reflects what stations in that format are playing. These are stations like the rock station I grew up listening to, WRBR South Bend, and others that play a lot of Metallica and Hinder and shit.

If I remember correctly, which I'm not sure, the Mainstream Rock chart reflects what stations in that format (sometimes also called Alternative) are playing. This includes stations like KROQ.

Labels frequently promote songs to both formats to see where it reacts the most, which is why the song would show up in different places on each chart.

Ah, I see, thanks for clarifying. All I know is that when the actual charts update, Mediabase's Active rock usually matches up with Billboard's Maintsream charts.

Slightly OFF topic, but

13. Cage the Elephant “Shake Me Down”

I don't get it, is that a new single in the USA? I mean, originally it came out in november 2010, maybe a few months before the album. How come they are playing it to death now?

Omni

#17 and #27, now. These numbers should be fairly accurate when Billboard updates their chart, on whatever day.

that's a bad sign. If they're only 15th in the radio station that plays more Offspring songs in the world......

I'm quite surprised that this song actually entered any list... is really one of the worst singles the offspring have released.

Is just another pop rock song to forget, could be signed by the foo fighters or nickelback.

The future is now sounds more offspring style and catchy.

Up to #14 and #24.

Omni

Well, it reached #11 and stalled out, now it's falling. That sucks, just one more space and it would have tied them for fifth. However, it's actually at #8 on the Mainstream charts and still slowly climbing. This is only the fourth time an Offspring song has ever performed better on the Mainstream charts than the Alternative charts. The other three were Gone Away, I Choose, and Next to You. Defy You performed equally well, reached #8 on both charts.

SO, how can I vote for them? The Offspring deserve to be number one! KROQ, I voted for them but didn't hear Days Go By on the Furious Five with Nicole Alvarez.

Well, it's too late now. The momentum is gone, #11 is its peak. I don't think it'll go much, if any, higher than #8 on the other chart, too.

nice to see that :)) on #9 without any video yet. Offspring were always popular in Greece. You can listen to them more often in the radios or even on tv spots than green day

If it reached around #10 then I don't think it's worst...

If it was like FF or Nickelback it would be #1. :D

The Future is obviously great, but give DGB time, there are some nice and pretty vocals in it, speedy pre-chorus with cool drums.

It wouldn't be a shame if they kept it up with LP. If they do 2nd place with 3 songs...who wouldn't take it? RFRG's singles fought hard with Weezer. :d

Well, it's not like this album was projected to take the #1 spot, anyway. I mean, they have a better chance now than ever in their career to hit #1 finally because people don't buy records anymore, and most of the fans rush out to get the record during the first week. So, maybe it can still reach #2, which would tie their high-water mark anyway.
