Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know, if you haven't already heard about The Offspring guitar App. It's an interactive guitar instruction game available on iPad and iPhone. No droid yet :( . I thought it would be fun to start a thread on this. I actually worked on this thing as a transcriber, and being a big Offspring fan myself, it was a blast....I got to work with Noodles!

Check it out, and let me know about any thoughts, questions, suggestions you guys might have. We just released a two-part guitar transcription of 'Days Go By' featuring the guitar parts for both Dexter and Noodles. Here is a link of Noodles talking about the App.Enjoy!:)

Here's another YT vid of the app. This one is really cool 'cause it shows exactly how a guitar player would interact with the app. Thanks to Apps4iDevicesMusic for uploading this one!!!!

Right Now we've got Dexter's and Noodles Guitar parts for 'Days Go By', 'Come Out and Play', 'You're Gonna Go Far, Kid', and 'The Kids Aren't Alright'. The last three have detailed lessons that include commentary by the man, Noodles himself.

Haven't the band been jocking hard for the Rock Prodigy app? They did a whole contest on the website and gave away an iPad and shit.

@Little_Miss_1565. Yeah, there was a contest. The winner of that contest was a very creative individual from France named Lea. Check out the video she made. It starts to get really good around 0:45 secs.

I saw it, she was rad. I guess I'm just a little confused that your posts were written from the point of view that the band hasn't been promoting it, but welcome to the forum.

Oh yeah, the guys have been all over it. Just wanted to get some more user feedback so we can keep on delivering bigger and better content. Right now we're working on a vocal version of the app. What are you're guys' opinion on that?

How does it instruct me?

@ShapeOfSound. This vid does a good job of showing how the app instructs you.

But how will it instruct us for a vocal-edition? :)

Also, my general feedback is simply to add more songs, and, if possible, make it so you can show both rhythm and lead tabs at the same time (for scoring purposes you can choose which one counts)

@TripleDK. The way the vocal app will work is kind of on the hush hush for now, but I was beta testing it the other day, and let me just say, it's a butt load of fun! (I hope I spelled butt load correctly).

Also, we just licensed three songs from Ignition, including LAPD, one of my favorites. The rhythm and lead guitar thing sounds like a really cool idea. Were you thinking it would be kind of like a split screen thing?

Here's another video of the App. This one talks about how to play with your own guitar sound on top of the original bass and drums from the recording of 'Days Go By'.
