I told you that they were gonna superimpose stuff onto the white background, Little_Miss!

Besides the burning mic at the end, I don't really like this video, though. I don't give a fuck about those people.

I like the tone and imagery of the video, has a very summer feel to it. Don't like the band in it, particularly Noodles. He just stands there, the whole video, I was hoping to see him be a bit more active. Other than that, I like it.

The gas station at 1:27 kinda reminded me of Defy You. I'm not sure whether that's a legitimate point, or if I'm just looking for references that may have not been intentional.

I've only watched it once so far. My initial reaction is that the video is a little boring. I'm really glad the band is actually in the video for a change though. I'll reserve a full judgment until I've watched it a few more times though. Noodles looks bored as fuck though. Dexter looks good, however.

Waking up to this video just made my day. The first thing that actually hit me is the contrast between the seriousness of Greg, Dexter and Noodles and the energy that Pete gives to the video because for some inexplicable reason it reminds me of Ron, that is, the idea that he was the youngest in the band; and after reading all the comments about imagery that resembles other eras maybe my thought is not so insane.

I like this video. I normally don't really care about music videos, but this one feels like the Offspring (well, Dexter) actually a lot of say about what the video would be like. Not only is there a bunch of imagery referencing the Offspring's past, but the story the video tells brings out a lot in the lyrics. I still don't think DGB is a great song, but I like it more now lyrically and I can see how much went into this song - I think it means a lot to Dexter.

My only thought on the video is that, coupled with the song, The Offspring is really staging itself to come back, huge arena-style. I don't care if people think they're ripping anyone off whatsoever, so don't anyone take this as an attack, but it very much feels - as a whole package - to be something that a band like the Foo Fighters would do. I don't think that's a bad thing. It's not my favorite kinda Offspring, but they really pulled out all the stops to shoot their target. I honestly hope the song takes off and people love it, and that the Offspring ends up playing huge arena shows, because that seems to be what they want here and I think they deserve it with how much they put into this.

Same here. It's not as epic as the All I Want/Meaning Of Life videos, but it is a really really decent piece of film and it suits the song well. I like this a lot :)

Visually interesting video, but I think in terms of a music video that talks about remembering the past and what not, TKAA's video and Can't Repeat's video (the one with the family scenes) is alot better. There's not much emotion in this one. I prefer other videos but it is nice anyway.

I'm more interested in seeing the Cruising California video, which I expect to be alot like Original Prankster, and if so, should be quite entertaining.

I think the offspring finally decided to get serious. I mean, look at this masterpiece. It's the best video they've done since ixnay/americana. And someone said its a very nice video but not was not as awesome as the ixnay/americana....get your eyes checked. This video reeks of that old school offspring.

Now, I am really stoked to hear the rest of the songs.

Go buy the album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

The basic idea is excellent and it looks and sounds great but too bad the guys seem a little stiff, especially Noodles, since he tends to be the one to rock out the most. And the background is a bit dull, nothing really interesting is going on there, when the girls took off their pants, it didn't exactly turn out the way I expected :(

Your favorite music videos are Offspring music videos? I like a few of theirs, but I've never really had one as a favorite. My favorite music video is probably the one for Machine Gun Blues, by Social Distortion.

and after reading all the comments about imagery that resembles other eras maybe my thought is not so insane.
Your comment was definitely the least insane. "That gas station reminded me of Defy You" hahaha. Some people were looking reaaally hard for comparisons they could make.

Good catch.

Overall, I was pleased with the music video. I didn't expect anything special, and I didn't get anything special. I probably won't watch it very much anymore. It was worth watching once though. Strangely enough, I am looking forward to the CC music video, even though I hate the song.

Degstur Lolland
06-01-2012, 09:27 PM
Instantly very good, superb and touching.

2 girls, 1 guy. That suggests some serious threesome. :d But, he sleeps with just one girl. The other one probably has some anger on her heart. Who knows what happened to Dexter in a real life. :D

I didn't notice those references to previous videos or albums, but who knows if it's intentional. I'd add Kristy video because a girl writes something on a paper.

It's really some high-end movie like video. I'd compare it to Linking Park and Foo Fighters too.

There is some environmental stuff too, wind turbines.

As for the best videos recently, Hammerhead was briliant too, but very different.

Oh, and Dexter totally melts some hearts. I approve of Noodles' neutral stance, he doesn't have to rock hard all the time.

I read a lot of reviews of the video and most are negative.
I think they are going a bit too harsh on the band. IT sounds like Foo Fighters' song but it's just main riff...
I'm not into the video and yes they seem to just be through motions but this is, together with TKAA, their most artistic video. They need to get some credit for that.

The very first thought when I heard the opening was "That reminds me of the Foo Fighters". If others think that, then it's probably actually very similar to the Foo Fighters song. This song is devoid of interesting parts, and the video doesn't do a very good job of making it exciting.

I wish you had heard the first version, compared it to this version, and then formed your own opinion rather than support your initial thought with the idea that others have thought this before as well. The first version was quite, quite similar to the Foo Fighters. It's not so much anymore.

I actually think the riff in DGB sounds more like the Cult and/or the Damned than the Foo Fighters now with the ways they've changed it around.

He just stands there, the whole video, I was hoping to see him be a bit more active.
There is something missing that we are soo used to seeing in Noodles.

I approve of Noodles' neutral stance, he doesn't have to rock hard all the time.
I don't think its an issue of neutrality. For a good chunk of this video, Noodles is completely lifeless. There is no power in what he is doing and that is unfortunate, because this has some pretty strong guitar. You don't have to "rock out" all the time for you to look active and alive, however, Noodles looks like he might fall asleep any minute, which is straight up surprising.

That being said, I think the video is excellent. Very fitting for the song and for this:

My only thought on the video is that, coupled with the song, The Offspring is really staging itself to come back, huge arena-style.
I completely agree that these guys are setting the stage for a comeback of epic proportions. Like American Idiot for Green Day, only not completely terrible. Sure, its a little different, but that doesn't make it bad. Maybe we will get to see a whole new generation come to appreciate them. It'd be great to see all those teeny boppers rocking out to the Offspring.

Also, Pete completely upstages the rest of the band all the time without even trying. I love this guy!

I guess he went for the contrast. Pete and Dexter are active enough. It's not like Can't Repeat video.

That's very optimistic, but I like your enthusiasm. Platinum album seems like is a problem even for Coldplay or Nickelback, we have discussed it today in expectation thread. But, if the album won't sell they will need at least 2 singles with 5 000 000 downloads. I don't know how to measure it without sales. The goal is to go Gold and CC could beat YGGFK, even that might not become true.
