I'm going skiing for ten days with my sorority-group in la Plagne, France. not planning on breaking any legs, just packed, going in half an hour, pretty fucking nervous, will have to miss my boyfriend, mp3-player doesn't work, super-afraid I forgot to pack loads of stuff..... I'm such a chaotic piece of shit.

but just in case some of you would begin to wonder where I am the following days; that's where I am. on a French ski-piste, begging, hoping & wishing for sunshine & good snow. or in an après ski-bar, of course. ;p

Per, schweets, I'll make sure you'll hear all about it & all the rogue stories. *blows a kiss in your direction*
Sim, Iza & Tizz; choco-/pizza-penises! see you later, dear nuts of mine. Iza; give Ken mah love, baby.
Sanni & Sunny, did you get my PM? man, I hope you can make it this summer..

anyone else, ta ta. don't know right now what I'm forgetting to say, but Isa-kisses anyway.

Ah well it'd have to be Joy coming here, I'm obligated by my school not to travel around, after they found out my plans to go to Paris.

I like sorority girls. Are you one?

I got your PM, yes, I did indeed.

I hope I can make it but mum is a major problemo. I mean, net friends are one thing. Going to another country is one thing, too. But going to Amsterdam to meet "strangers" is another.

Mum is the name of a flower. Mom is the name to call one's mother.

Mum is British English, arseface*.

* So is arseface. It means "assface".

God damn the british spelling! As a generalization, the british spelling is arrogant and completely without logic.

Yeah, WTF, man, they totally stole your AMERICAN language and bastardized the spelling!

you're.... beautiful, wait, I meant to say that as an insult but it didn't really end up that way. It's like in tommy boy when Chris Farley says, "take dead animals to the vet?" and David Spade replies,"I'll take you to the vet."

Yeah, well, it doesn't really change the fact that the English way of spelling *was* first.

Beautiful really doesn't go as an insult :p Even in that context :p

Besides, just because I like something, doesn't mean everyone needs to. Pff. You have the right to hate it.

Speaking of which, what's the difference between Kaninchen and Hasen.

Kaninchen have smaller ears i believe, and are naturally grey.
(i think they are "wilder" than Hasen.)
Hasen, on the other hand, have big big cuddley cute ears. :]

ohh and Per..um..i'm sorry? heh.

Yeah, well, it doesn't really change the fact that the English way of spelling *was* first.
It was first, but does that make it right? That's one of my complaints about english classes around the world. They learn the proper tone. My problem there is that only 65 million people live in England(something like that, i really don't know) and 298 million people live in America. When an Englander says to an American "hoarding" the American probably doesn't know that he means Billboard.

Panzerfaust92
03-04-2005, 12:35 PM
Sorry about that folks. I just got home from work and found my brother, Allan, posting under my name. I told hom to get his own, but that's probably not going to happen.

Vera
03-04-2005, 12:39 PM
Yeah, "Allan" alright.

Not saying it's right, but not saying it's right to put American spelling over it. I usually spell things the British way, since they usually teach us to spell things British English at school. I may use American sayings or terms for things, hell, I may even use Aussie sayings (though I don't know too many), but mostly I spell British. That's why I say "mum" instead of "mom". STFU about it.

Panzerfaust92
03-04-2005, 12:48 PM
Why would you fill yourself with such rage over a spelling argument, which I didn't start? It seems that this all goes deeper somehow. Besides, I'm not too keen on grammatical argumments anyway. I have enough problems at home speaking macedonian.

Languages evolve. This is a stupid argument, you should all fucking stop. No language stays absolute - the language changes as people communicate differently. Refer to Beowulf for an example of English in it's original form. Most of you won't understand it.

No man is an iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod be washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death dimnishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And Therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.

- John Donne, XVIIth century.

Yes, the language changes. Personally I sort of like when the two 'E' went together, like in Dicken's times, to spell 'creeture'. Just sounded so sexy.

I loved reading Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado about Nothing. The language flows so smooth. It's like swimming through a pool of gravy, tasty gravy that is.

We read Romeo and Juliet when I was like in 9th grade and that bored the hell out of me so I just skipped through the whole book.

Hamlet, on the other hand, was fairly cool. I think I read it in my last year of high school. Haven't touched Shakespeare since.

"Now Ophelia, she's 'neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid"

To Quote Bob Dylan.

Panzerfaust92

I read MacBeth last summer. I liked it, but I thought it dragged on a lttle and didn't quite have the coherence of other shakespeare classics. One book I did not like was, "A Tale of Two Cities." My thought the whole time was, "Stop describing the pimples on the back of his neck and get on with the story!"

Yeah I know what you mean. I really like stirring up shit, and seeing how people react. I really just started the spelling argument to piss off the Brits. I lie as well in these situations. My brother's name is Todd and he doesn't even live in my house, and I'm not Canadian either. I'm from Mason City, Iowa.
