Searched the BBS if this was discussed, and found no results.

I found this on eBaums, talking about an internet replacement, or something along the lines of that using this specific Grid System for information. Apparently, computers will be able to be linked to more things than they are right now, and is dubbed, Next-Gen Internet.

Any thoughts?

It said in the article that the computers can be linked to sensors, telescopes, and tidal-wave simulators. If this is just the beginning of the Grid network, they may continue to work on it and include more things that we could link to, so the list can grow.

We can already link computers to all of those things.

^ I thought it was an april fool at first but then i skim read it and it does seem possible. But i really don't see how an new 'internet' could top this one?! there seems to be little room for advancement.

there seems to be little room for advancement.

you obviously know nothing about the OSI layers or any of the technology that fits therein.
