I have completely gone through every fucking .mp3 I have, and properly tagged everything (Track # - artist - title.mp3). So much shit was mislabeled, it’s not even funny. Pirates these days, no class, no skills, no manners, and horrible grammar >:| it’s awful. I consider myself to be a “good pirate” a.k.a, extremely organized, and neat. The kind that would have his puffy shirt cleaned and ironed every damn day (Yes, a Seinfeld reference). Anyhoo, to cut to the chase, I had just finished every mp3, and I suddenly realized I still had the New Downloads folder, I go through it, clean everything till I come to, "The Beatles Complete Collection.” My jaw drops with utter horror, my eyes twitch and begin to tear up. Seventy-four (74) separate .rar files. For the first time ever, I have to say, fuck The Beatles for making so much goddamn music. I love it, but that’s insane. So far, from previewing all the .rar files, i've noticed every fucking mp3 is labeled in such a style, with such mess it would make a pig envious.

Check it:

The_Beatles_-_Across_The_Universe(256k)_-_08_-_Across_The_Universe.Mp3

And the preferred format for .mp3s in the Ara Music Archives:

08 - The Beatles – Across the Universe.mp3

Now I set about this inane, insane, and mundane task of fixing every last one of them.

Yeah, I did that before. But that was back when i had my 3,600 files of pirated media. Then I reformatted my computer, so it's all gone now.

I've got about 9,000 files, about 101 gigs. Around 4.8 thousand of them, are pirated. More files in the pirated section once I unrar all the Beatles stuff :[

What's the point having so much music, do you ever listen to it?

Vera

Please tell me most of those are movies, because I can't understand who'd have the time to actually ever listen to 101 gigs of music.

Uhh, I just realized even a 3 hour movie is only around 5 gigs at the largest. That's fucked up.

What's the point having so much music, do you ever listen to it? I have listened to maybe about 80% of the music. It really is not all that much. I have a few friends that have terabytes of mp3s.

It actually depends on the quality of the rip on how big of a file it is. If it is on a dual layer DVD, you are looking at far more than just 5gigs :p

They're just silly. Hardly, one of them runs an mIRC network :p He is one of maybe two people I know off the net, that I give 100% respect to.

I have about 2400 songs, and I started organizing them when I had like 500. My Winamp list always looks really neat :-)

Also when the fuck is an IRC network called mIRC? it's a program you use to access iRC.

Why does it matter what they're called? As long as you can tell what they are it doesn't matter - waste of time to sit there and 'fix' them all.

If you have quite a lot of mp3's it's nice to see them well organized. Easier to find mp3's. Plus your list doesn't look like total crap. And it avoids the chance that you have one song more than once.

my list is rather neat and most of the id3 tags are good. There's a few failed ones here and there and one day I'll get around to fixing it. The worst are the cd's I ripped when I was too retarded to use cddb. Ugh. Such bad filenames.

I feel your pain! I like things to be organised and neat, and end up spending hours tidying things! :( This applies to a lot of things- not just files on the computer! Ppl think I'm well eccentric! Um,well *glances up at user name*,yeah.....

When I had a large amount of media, I put my media player on shuffle. That way, I really did listen to all of it, just not at once. Eventually, I will have listened to every song naturally.
