Who do you believe is the most talented guitarist, Bassist and Drummer in punk?

I believe noodles for best guitarist, Mike Dirnt of Green Day for bass and Tre cool of Green Day for drums. By the way, i forgot to meantion it in the poll, but for those who don't know, Derrick Whylbey is the guitarist for Sum 41. And feel free to correct me on the spelling of his name if i got it wrong.

I don't know how anyone could put anyone over Noodles from that list. Green Day, Blink 182 and Sum 41 guitarists all suck.
As for bass Mike Dirnt is pretty good, but the guy from rancid is the best.
Drums Travis Barker or Josh Freese.

Dude, you chose Tom DeLonge from Blink 182? You should've chosen Travis Barker, now that's talented.

Is that in the poll?
Because the poll is on best guitarist, and then we 'talk' about the best guitarist, bassist and drummer.

Mike Dirnt - Bass
Travis Barker - Drums
Dave Grohl - Guitar, because he was next on my drummer list, and he can share vocals with Billie Joe.

Oops...I voted before I read your post...I didn't know it had to be punk so I voted "other". Anyways, the persons I was thinking of were Gary Moore and Slash (Guns 'N' Roses). I don't know who the best punk guitarist is. Best punk drummer is Ron Welty, because he's the only punk drummer I like. Best bass player then.....hm....I'd have to say Steve Harris from Iron Maiden, but he's not punk...can't remember anyone else though, so I have to go with him.

Joe Satriani for guitar, or Steve Vai. Bassist might be Flea from RHCP. I have no idea about drums.

Shawn Lane pwns both Vai and Satriani.

PS: There aren't any talented guitarists in punk.

Most talented punk band would be

Jello Biafra - Vocals (what a fucking singer, i love his voice, you could totally feel his rage when he starts yellin)

Matt Freeman or Mike Dirnt - Bass its hard cuz Matt can get all over the place and make it annoying, Mike knows when to do his lil shit so ionno i guess Dirnt.

Noodles - Guitar yeah hes probably the best guitar player in punk rock, hes not great in Rock compared to like Floyd and Zeppelin and shit but he is the best in punk rock. He goes everywhere on the neck hes fast and speeedy love him. Plus the sound is awesome too.

Drums - Smelly from NOFX, he is so fast, first time i heard NOFX i definately paid major attention on the drums, he is very talented and ionno he can play anything. Definately the best in Punk.

Keyboards - haha just fuckin....

How so?

The thread only says most talented musicians.
"Who do you believe is the most talented guitarist, Bassist and Drummer in punk?"
It says in punk but I'm probably missing something by what you mean.

how is he better than Joe or Steve?

Jebus
04-10-2005, 10:41 PM
have you ever heard of him? He's a great jazz musician. He'll leave both Vai and Satriani in the dust. Well, he could before he died a year ago.

dirtybird
04-10-2005, 10:43 PM
Haha. Well, Joe is the best living, atleast.

Jebus
04-10-2005, 10:49 PM
There's lots of guitarists better than Joe and Vai. Vai is still my favorite but there are tons of guitarists better in terms of technical skill and speed. Vai simply has my favorite song writing skills but I could still admit there are people better than him.
