Can't thank you enough, HP. Much appreciated. I'm downloading it now.

And actually, thank you too, Endy, because that picture made my evening.

Those look interesting to say the least.

By the way, I'm still open to Word or alternatives, everyone. Word itself would be ideal, and I do like this program, but again, I'm always open.

If I were better at computer-type stuff it would be no problem... I had the fake discs or whatever for Office 2003 on my computer but checking in my folder I only see disc 1/5 now so maybe I deleted the others due to lack of hard drive space (???)

Anyway... yeah... the best I could offer would be the physical disc... but I'd imagine somebody could hook you up better than that.

Actually... nevermind... I found all 5/5 images of the discs... only problems are:

(1) Not sure how it works... didn't install it myself... don't know if you need anything else to install...
(2) Huge files... slow transfer

they're isos, you burn them to cd (via 'burn image' or something akin to that), then put them in your cd drive and they act like the original thing. or you mount the isos just as they are and the same thing.

if you just need word processing (and nothing hella crazy fancy), i like abiword (http://www.abisource.com/)

Thanks for the offer Betty, but I do believe it would be a humongous hassle for you and probably not worth all the trouble!

Endy, I just checked that out, and I think I like it. Much thanks indeed.

Why don't you want to use p2p?

Microsoft Works. The #1 Oxymoron.

You rule for that.

And I've just had bad p2p experience, Jebus. I use 'em for songs and vids alright, but not for programs.

Get Open Office. www.openoffice.org - works with Word documents of all types and is just overall better.
