hey if i wanna learn about how frequently Greek city-states in the fifth century BC went to war, and the reasons for it, how could i do it?

I don't mean to brag or anything but seriously - i've tried googling 'war 5th century Greece' 'greek city states war' etc and i can't get decent information.

Any ideas please?

EDIT: i know this is gonna piss off unholy but i don't care. :p

Cheers ^

wow, that washington state university page has a load of stuff about ancient Greece *bookmarks*

but it doesn't have anything about the frequent minor wars between city-states - only the bigger ones (which although i need to know those i need the little wars right now)

well you can read them individually and after that you can sort of assume what the conflicts between them were about.... :p

The fact that you considered I'd get pissed off means I have granted you a pardon.

no, that's the problem; the Greek city-states quarrelled with each other a lot and so no one bothers to write about the reasons or anything, and instead only write about the really big wars.

I need to support my argument in an essay so need examples - I have Athens and Aegina but i have no idea why they hated each other.

Why don't you just get a bunch of books?

I have a bunch of books but they all seem to focus on either the Persian wars or the Peloponnesian war (ie. the BIG ones). :(

It has probably a lot to do with the Peloponnesian war or the prior expansion of Athenes (that has contributed to this war).
