View Full Version : These Things I Believe Part 5 (The BLOODENING)

You know the deal. Here we go again. Part 6 probably soon, if I feel like it.

-Spring Break is so weak when you attend community college. I only get one week off, and with 15 pages of a hardcore research paper due the Friday I get back, I won't be having much fun. Library all morning/afternoon, writing most of the night.

-These multiple opinion of [insert BBS member here] threads are bad enough, but is it too much to ask to at least title it correctly? Opinion of, not on. And while I'm at it, what's up with all these post parties? Wouldn't Instant Messenging programs work better for that?

-So, my new iPod rocks pretty intensely. Listening to Kimya Dawson, Depeche Mode, Legowelt, Royce Da 5'9, Kanye West, Jughead's Revenge, The Faint, and 50 Cent all in a row without switching CDs or bringing out bulky CD players is awesome.

-Aint nothin' wrong with porn. Stop being such a prude.

-As awesome as most of the BBS is, I must say that JoY > many. She's awesome. ninth and Dave as well.

-Go to my thread sometime. I took the link outta my sig, but it's still floating in the "Other Bands" section.

-Obligatory mini-survey: do you tape pictures and posters to your wall, use thumbtacks/push-pins, staples, or what?

sorry dude, but you need an avatar, and badly, that's what makes us kewl! :p

...What. The. Fuck.

I don't know, but I hate them. I'll repeat it : a party thread is worthless and stupid.

I'm glad to hear you love it. iPods are awesome. I had the same problem before, I always brought like 25 CDs at school. It took a lot of place.

I use some kind of blue gum. No idea if it has a particular name.

Johnny, I downloaded that Faint song (Your Retro Career Melted) in your first installment of these threads. I must say I like it. If you'd give me the link, I'd download the rest of them right now.

JohnnyNemesis

They're all pretty awesome, but I think the songs in the earlier post may not be available for much longer. I'd say download them at random, and just throw 'em on! :D

ah I recently went impulse-crazy and bought myself an mp3 player, so I feel your joy about the lack of need for the backwards and barbaric CD-player.

And I use scotch tape to keep posters on my wall. One I bought in America, with a picture of a guy in an old fashioned outfit that syas 'Pimpin- Ho sales since 1869!' because I am that mature. and a Che Guevara face used in an Andy Warhol-style poster that a friend bought for me in Sweden. And that is it.

Oh, I so agree. Those threads are just pathetic, stupid and annoying.

Damn you, I still have to walk around with a CD Player and tons of CDs. *shakes fist*

Your thread is awesome. I downloaded almost all of the songs and I must say that they're just great =)

I just use scotch tape.

I don't hang posters, but the only thing I hate about CD players are the fact that some don't have Anti Skip.

I use doublesided tape (REMO tape) that I acquired as an associate at Wilson's Leather to hang posters/mirrors. When that isn't strong enough/whatnot (in this case, hanging a mirror that is falling apart in my third apartment in two years) I use wire brads (aka thin nails).

-As awesome as most of the BBS is, I must say that JoY > many. She's awesome. ninth and Dave as well.
No, you're awesomer.

Query: What did you think of wet from birth? I've never really gotten into the Faint by I really dig their stuff from the saddlecreek 50.

JohnnyNemesis
04-25-2005, 05:05 PM
Val's blue gum sounds good, but double sided tape...I should use that.

Wet From Birth got some mixed reviews from my friends, but I think it's awesome. It all feels pretty fresh, and different (but not too different) from Danse Macabre. There's definitely more guitar on this album, and a lot more rockin'. Even some violin on a few songs. What have you heard from them so far?

Rick, Rick, Rick...

You know I love most of your songs.

Joy does indeed rock... I almost always agree with her...

Porn is alright but I think I prefer hot sex in real movies.

And... I use this two sided sticky stuff that doesn't hurt your walls for my posters (very cool posters by the way)... that I got free from the residence desk. Woe the day it runs out!

...

I highly respect Sean (or I am not yet worthy enough to refer to you by first name?) and Dave. Haven't talked to Isa very often although I'm most likely to say the same about her if I did. But, this is just... too degrading to express in words! Why am I not put before these many members? What happened to all the times you said you loved the penguin, Rick!? Huh?!

I use thumbtacks and tape, yo.

Your awesomeness has transcended words, sweetheart! *watches my cheesy sweettalk meter explode*

ninth, I updated my thread just for you a few seconds ago. Check out the four Faint songs I threw in there and let me know what you think here or there. You too Betty, since you rock so much and all.
You guys are lucky that you get double sided stuff for free. My thumbtacks are killing my wall.

ninth
04-25-2005, 05:44 PM
Agenda Suicide is probably my favorite of those four.
The inclusion of a violin in Desperate Guys was definitely unexpected.

The Faint is just so fucking dancey and I love it.

Betty

I want to download them on my computer... but if they're 7 days they should still be working by next Sunday! I guess I could download and then upload again too... hmm...

JohnnyNemesis
04-25-2005, 07:21 PM
Glad ya like 'em, ninth. Agenda Suicide is a popular one, If you like the violin in "Desperate Guys", you might like "Southern Belles In London Sing" as well. Total violin guided dancey stuff there, believe it or not.

The blue gum works perfectly. I have a poster on the ceiling and I think it fell only once.

I'm considering cleaning out my c:\ from mp3's since my c:\ is TINY and I need space for downloading season 2 Arrested Development eps. Though I could burn some on a cd at dads' due the course of the week.

Otherwise, I would go to your thread.

in the Netherlands you don't have a Spring Break when you're in college/uni. so grr @ you.

I liked Per's & Sanni's thread. the rest are merely poor rip offs, that suck majorly.
guys guys, it's been done, it's been done good, you can't do it better, no one even cares for your opinion, let it fucking rest.

pictures go in picture frames, or my picture curtain. for posters I mostly use that prit poster stuff, that looks like bubblegum & tears the paint off your wall after a while.

Sanni - Bah! You best to burn those shows onto CD soon and check out my thread.

Isa Isa - Picture curtain? Why have I not heard of that? Please 'splain. :D

By the way, your new avatar is sexy as fuck.

Dave - Blu-Tac is the name of that gummy stuff? Sweet! Whenever I move out of here, the landlords are gonna be majorly pissed at what my thumbtacks have done to the walls here...

a picture curtain is a plastic curtain in which you can fit many pictures in plastic pockets, so yeah well, it's a picture curtain, like a shower curtain.

I'm explaining this real oddly, because I'm drunk & my boyfriend is wiggling his foot in my nose.

Now THAT is priceless. I had to stifle my laughter so as to not wake up the people in my house.
