It's always hard to change presidents in a middle of a war. That's one reason for example.

Bush won. It's past-tence now. Kerry conceded.

I find it awfully suspect that a man who couldn't win the popular vote last time, after 4 years of major controversy, suddenly managed to win both the electoral AND popular votes. Especially with the voter turnout at record high, you'd think all the people who decided to vote this time around chose to do so because they were unhappy with the current administration.

I wish Bush had won the popular vote but lost the electoral. You know, just to see how the GOP would handle fighting against the very thing that got him into office in the first place.

Kerry has not conceded yet. This information is according to a white house aide. And some 'Kerry' advisor. I won't believe it until Kerry actually says it.

It came down to one state to decide the winner: Ohio.

Kerry had 252 votes
Bush had 254 votes

Ohio is worth 20 votes and the most you need to win the election is 270.

Bush won it 52% to 48%

Honestly, I believe in conspiracies, this is just another one. Another 49% 51% head to head clashing of morons, yeah bullshit. This was planned way before people even started voting. I don't believe the American public is this stupid, atleast I hope... *sigh* Four more years of hell, and stop hating America, it's not our fault our leaders are corporate whores.

Vera

I'm certain I'm not the only one who thinks this is just another proof that idiots exist in America.

And I'm pretty certain that the next four years will show that ignorance can kill. Maybe not the Americans, but the civilians in the next country Bush sets his eyes on.

Call me an optimist.

11-04-2004, 10:16 AM
Are you serious Vera? You don't think Americans are dying in this war? Jeez these people are my family and my friends and they most certainly can die.

And I don't find this as evidence of idiocy in America, that's a shallow analysis. There are several reasons for why Bush won, other than American stupidity.

Vera
11-04-2004, 10:23 AM
I don't think they necessarily will die. I mean, for all Bush has talked about security, he should be able to protect his state. Don't get me wrong, I doubt it as well, but I think he should be able to do that. I worry about America, but I worry more about the world in general.

Oh, cut me some slack. Of course I'm generalizing a huge fucking load. This is all due to anger, frustration, worry, concern and most importantly, fear. I didn't want this to happen. I'm pissed off. I'm pissed off at everyone who voted for this guy, I know their reasons vary and I don't hate them for what they did, but I'm still pissed off.

I have no idea where this will lead and I didn't think the world would suddenly become a peaceful, happy place if Kerry was elected, but I have serious doubts Bush will do anything but fuck up more during the next four years.

Vera, you don't seem to comprehend that American soldiers are dying in Iraq. I personally don't believe another terrorist attack is too likely on American soil. However American soldiers, and all of them, are ordinary people, generally pretty poor as well. These are the people I was referring to. It's not like all of them support the war, or even Bush.

Vera
11-04-2004, 10:48 AM
I was just talking about attacks on civilians on American soil. Attacks such as 9/11. I know American soldiers died and are dying in Iraq. I'm not completely stupid. I perhaps didn't make that clear in my original post, but I was talking about civilians. Not soldiers.

Not saying civilians are any more valuable than soldiers.

Just saying I want to believe that if there's one thing Bush should accomplish, it's keeping his nation secure.

In England y'all elected that Jackass Tony Blair, you really aren't one to point fingers.

Kerry would've abused Brazil just as bad as Bush. I believe Kerry had very positive feelings towards NAFTA.
